DSA 2011

ngbrdad:
thanks for the info. circle line is helpful. To all who stay in the west and are considering RI, I just tried the circle line today.
Time listed for travel between Buona Vista and Marymount by SMRT is 14 min.
Time walking between 2 platforms is 4 min.
Time from Clementi to Buana Vista by mrt is 4 min.
So factoring in ample waiting time , it takes only around 30 min to travel from Clementi to Marymount using the circle line.
So to travel in leisure for my DS and not be late, latest to leave home should be around 6.30 am. -

Will you you be attending, vlim? Most probably, we will not be.. -
If my child gets an award in the smops and goes for dsa, does this guarantee a 100% place for her?

I don't think is 100% guarantee... But definitely stand a better chance then those with none and poorer academic result I suppose  -

If your child has a Gold or Platinum award, she will stand a higher chance at DSA. But these days, even a SMOPS Platinum doesn't guarantee you a place in the top schools. -

Depends on the colour of the award and which school you are aiming. If SMOPS platinum/gold, better chance at NYGH. If silver and bronze, not much advantage. If you are aiming for RGS, all girls must go through GAT then go through Math domain selection tests. No guarantee.
Not sure about NUSH and other schools. -
Snow Crystal:
In 2008 batch (current sec 3), heard SMOPS platinum were given tea session to join NUSH. They might or might still have to go thru the camp which could be free for them.chubbydd:
