Wah RI takes in so many GEP ?

More than half of the GEP boys cohort per year.

RI has 7 classes for the GEP boys, approx 7 x 25 = 175, class size 30, the other 4 or 5 are mainstream high scorers

HCI iSpark consortium has about 80 ~ 90 GEP boys, so in total RI + HCI has about +/- 250 GEP boys,

I heard from HCI Parent Symposium that iSpark's mainstreamers are purely via DSA, which means that high PSLE scorers who didn't go for HCI DSA will not be eligible for iSpark.

For the chosen 4 or 5 mainstream high scorers in RI, are they given the opportunity to choose GEP/Con't with Mainstream? How do they fare compared to those who are already in the GEP since pri 4?
Everyone in RI -- be it Sports DSA class, or all other classes with and without GEP students -- is in GEP enriched curriculum, that is the RI pedagogy. The last 7 classes where the GEP kids together with the 4 - 5 per class of mainstream kids are learning at a different pace from the first 8 classes. Those mainstream kids inserted into the GEP kids' class have regular review session with the relevant teachers to assess how to cope with the GEP kids. So far no difference at all. After half a year, the teachers can't tell who is / not from GEP. RI emphasises that everyone start from the same starting line in RI.

              Hi,

I've read somewhere that if GEP student score below average of 80%, he will have to sit for GAT test for RI DSA. Is it also the same for HCI? If he did not pass the GAT test, can he still proceed to interview? Basically, is it possible for GEP student to apply RI & HCI for normal IP prog? For HCI, if manage to get > 80%, what's the 2nd stage?
For DSA in the GEP domain, only RI has this criteria of >80% overall spelt out in the DSA application. If the children meet this criteria and get shortlisted, they will just need to go through an interview . For HCI shortlisted candidates, they will have to do a Free response written test and interview on 9 July. This is what I have gathered from their online application site.

Can anyone share how difficult it is to get into RI through DSA GEP domain? My ds got 79.5 overall. Consistently at 79 and above. Very very anxious. Any advice appreciated.

I noticed the RI DSA online will round up the score, and the consideration for GAT is on P6 SA1 overall. If your DS got 79.5, he may skip the GAT. Then it all up the kids to perform and make a convincing case during interview. Wil suggest for the kids to practice their interview skill. I did throw this question to DS primary school teachers about their chance based on school results and none of them seems willing to give an answer.

i would hazard to guess good chance if the performance has been consistently at 79 and / or above. The interview will be critical
