if i am not wrong, the extended day program is only for nursery level/k1/k2... means age 4-6.Hi
I am also confused abt the extended prg.. Well, i opt for the extended full day prg for my gal (Playgroup next yr). So will she be having enrichement classes in the afternoon? It appears that it is only applicable for nursery & above? Cos when I look at their agenda, afternoon is usually grp activities. And i rem Tanya was saying something like enrichment in the afternoon is a bit overwhelming for playgrp..
Dono if i rem it correctly...
age 3 - maybe just simple music n movement etc. maybe not the full scale of programs.
like fastrackids maybe not suitable for them.
but hor... if am a parent and have alternative daycare. i wont opt for extended day if it's really napping at 1pm-3pm.
send them home to nap bah

I c i c..
Hmm at least she is learning something in the afternoon rather than playing leisurely.
I also rem seeing some older children having their lessons during nap time. Wonder if my gal can tahan nt to take nap when she gets older.. :?
Really looking forward to join Mt Emily. Hope to see gd changes & improvements in my gal. Hope she likes the place too.
Btw, do they play at the park quite often? I hope they don wander to other places except the playground cos i saw a green snake at the park while i was bringing my gal hme after visiting their place.
Agree that with a park is gd but nt with snakes ard... Can be quite dangerous too..mtdt:

mtdt starting to like pat's oredi?

arrgg.. i gotta find out more about this extended morning during my next Parent-teacher-session as well. but my understanding oso is 1-3pm is for their extended program.
and Serangoon branch will have toodlers group next year. me going sign my #2 in there.. during term 4 (the earliest hey can let her start) -
Morning mummies,
This thread is getting active! So exciting!
I receive a letter that mentioned about this I Math program which start from 1-3pm.
So I clarified with the school as I have the impression that 1-3pm are their naptime. Was told that that was only meant for nursery and above.
In fact, the enrichment like music, cooking etc are for nursery and above.
Toddlers and playgroup will still nap at 1 to 2+.
But i forgot to ask about their program after their nap since the enrichment program is not meant for them.
:frustrated: -

OMG!
I wasnt told that they will visit the park, so should be quite safe unless the snake sneak into the school.
But then, again, its seems that the program can be very different for each level. The nap time is a good example. So maybe the bigger kids may get to go the park. -

Hi mtdt, for nursery class.. mine is a new class of only 6kids to 1 eng Tr. the chinese tr would only pops in for her class. so not really hv bilingual exposure. however since my DS stays till 530pm... he does get his fair share of mandarin exposure during afternoon as only a handful kids stay back.
so far seems ok... we just had a mooncake celebration. started sch at 2pm with activities like mooncake making/lantern making... then the kids had dinner. Parents were invited to the sch for mini performance+lantern walking in the playground.
This the 2nd time we were being invited to sch for kids performance. (1st time was national day). think the sch is trying to get parents involved and to show tat the sch is doing gd
but the sch is \"full\" now... i am wondering how are they going to cater for one more class next yr .... as this yr there is no k2... but with everyone promoting next yr... unless they do away with toddler class...
Your nursery class has a very good teacher student ratio!
Mooncake celebration! So nice!
Hope Mt Emily will have such activity next time with the parents.
As this is my 1st year there, i thought they will have a mooncake celebration in school, but maybe coz this school is too multi national.
So no celebratiion.

Just want to share that it has been a smooth transition for my boy from Dโstory club to toddlersโ class (Share Bear) at Patโs Serangoon which just started last week.
Very thankful to the supportive teachers and principal Ms Wee (I have to mention special thanks to Ms Annabelle, Ms Joan, Liang Lao Shi, Ms Shar and many others) who helped to ensure that the little ones adjust to school.
