      hey Schweppes,

you are right about her....she is like the Energizer bunny. can't sit still and always up to some nonsense. son said she is born in the 'right year'...the year of the monkey.
If you can use this school holiday to bond with her & suss out what she can do with her strength & she agrees that's what she wants to do, I'm sure u wld hv helped direct her path.

Energy, youth 是她的本钱. That's when you'll see her flourish & see her grow once she's able to find her niche. Don't worry abt 三分之热度. Just keep building on it once u see a light of possibility. You can do it mummy Janet! 加油!

        hi schweppes,

I checked with her FT. he has highlighted those girls who are exempted from MT to be placed in the class with 6 subjects during class allocation. I’m so relieved and grateful for his thoughtfulness.

            starlight,
won't know result until nov 2...but hopefully the level head/school leaders will allocate her to the class with 7 subjects...then she will have principles of accounts and food & nutrition as backup in place of her exemption from MT. schweppes reminded me geog/ss, physics/chem are considered 2 subjects.

Good to know that you managed to speak to dd's form teacher. Hope that it all works out for her.

Hi, my son was offered to take up Social Studies with Geog/Hi/Lit and Pure Humans.

Will pure humans benefit him in the future like for example getting into JC and Uni since it is optional to take up pure humans and he wants to take triple science?
Additionally, what option between social studies with geog or history or lit is reccomended in terms of rate of difficulty?

Er… think you mean Humanities, not Humans, because there is no such subject, called "Pure humans". Humanities, Yes ! But no such subject exists, called Humans.

Your son, in IP or in O-level?

For A-level, nobody is allowed to take Triple Sciences subject combination anymore, due to one contrasting Arts subject imposed upon, required (compulsory).

Since Chemistry is compulsory, his A-level Science subjects are either (Chemistry, Physics) or (Chemistry, Biology).

So, whether your son want to take Physics or Biology, at A-level : is up to him, to decide. Ask him what he want to be, or where his passion (interests) lie in, when he go to university, next time.

fyi, if your son from O-level -
if he had never taken Bio at O-level before, he cannot (not allowed to) take it at A-level. The same applies to Physics. You must have done that Science subject at O-level before, to provide the necessary foundation needed (required), before can continue into A-level, same subject.

If your son is from IP -
usually, IP students will take All Triple Sciences up to Year 4, unless they are very weak (poor) in one of the Sciences, then Year 4 subject Tr will ask them to drop.

                    Eg

In Raffles Girls ( IP ), if there students found to be very weak in Bio in Year 3 or 4, student will be asked to drop Bio, in Year 4.

But by and large, IP students normally take Triple Sciences up to Year 4, then come Year 5 (JC1), they will have to drop either Bio or Physics, depending on what career ambition (goal / faculty course) they have in mind, when they go university.

                      Thanks Starlight.
I think she will be allocated to the class to take POA and F&N.
there will be a change of syllabus for NA E math...I don't know how accurate her info is.

Hi, my son is in Sec 2 currently in O level track. He is wondering what SS Elective, Lit, Geog and History is the most suitable in terms of difficulty and the benefits that he has in jc or uni or in certain industry like law and medicine
