I think total UAS is 3H2 plus 3H1, that is how the max is 90.
thks for the info too , i vaguely remember the points.doodbug\" post_id=\"1935467\" time=\"1568605144\" user_id=\"13281:
GP, Project Work and 4th Content Subject counts for the same weightage, i.e. 10 points each, in the UAS computation.
The other three content subjects count for 20 points each.
The XXX/X are as what their titles say, Indicative (not absolute) Grade Profiles - gives you a guide on the cut-off grades.
1) Is it correct : Uni entry is generally based on 3H2 & 2H1 ( 1contrasting subject + 1 GP or project work ? )
2) any idea abt H3 subject pts?
edit to add qn:
the extra project work , chinese , 4th H2 - for what purpose, can't add points on top of Combi of (3H2+2H1) ?
actually Sec2 subject combi selection is quite impt - as it leads to A level eligible subjects combi and into uni pts entry
So PW is not extra. -
GP, Project Work and 4th Content Subject are of equal weightage, i.e. 10 points each.
The other three Content Subject makes up 20 points each.
Maximum points is thus, 90.

MerlionG, thks - i think so too - add to 90 for combi = 3H2 + 3H1
next qn :
3H1 - 1 contrasting H1 subject + 1 GP + 1 Pw
i think GP is compulsory to pass for general uni admission , unless special conditions
So if a A level kid get v good results in Chinese , can chinese subject replace Pw or contrasting subject for Uni pts calculation?
if chinese can't be use - hmm... why need to take chinese in A level :scratchhead: -

Cannot replace but can be included, just google.

The 3H1 should be content subject, PW, GP. (Discussion not about KI, that one separate discussion).
CL need to take to fulfil Singapore’s bilingual policy, I think. -

H2 - 20
H2 - 20
H2 - 20
H1 (or worst 4th H2) - 10
PW - 10
GP - 10
Total = 90
If you add in chinese, you will have to convert the total back to base 90. You cannot replace PW, GP, or H1 with chinese. In most cases, adding chinese won't affect your UAS very much.
For example:
H2 - A = 20
H2 - B = 17.5
H2 - C = 15
H1 - A = 10
PW - B = 8.75
GP - C = 7.5
UAS = 78.75
(if add chinese, say A, which is = 10, then UAS = 88.75/100 * 90 = 79.875)
Another example:
H2 - A = 20
H2 - A = 20
H2 - B = 17.5
H2 - C = 7.5
PW - A = 10
GP - B = 8.75
UAS = 83.75
(if add chinese A = 10, then UAS = 93.75/100 * 90 = 84.375)
Yes, to enter local university have to fulfill the MTL requirement.

@MP. (1) iirc no need. An RI family member entered NUS Accountancy even though it failed GP. But have to check latest requirements......(1) think GP is compulsory to pass for general uni admission , unless special conditions

(2) That's what mine says too! - to justify the refusal to study hard for CL. -
This thread even if meant for sec 2 but useful for sec 4 too. Now then I know both my kids detest Science and aiming for Art Stream subjects combo.

Clearing MT is necessary for non-provisional admission into local Universities,. It is however, not a requirement for it to be included in the UAS score. Hence, there is no need to ‘do well’ in it.
Chinese cannot replace GP in the UAS computation.
Entry to local universities is contingent on fulfilling all entry requirements; placement into course is based on UAS (for courses without other admission tests), if not applying via discretionary admissions. -

3H1 for UAS - the content H1 in the UAS doesn't have to be the contrasting H1 subject - it could be the weakest H2 content subject, regardless contrasting or not. The 4th H2 content subject will be converted into a H1 weightage if you read 4H2s. It is the contrasting H1 in the UAS if you read 3H2 and 1H1 (contrasting).
MerlionG, thks - i think so too - add to 90 for combi = 3H2 + 3H1
next qn :
3H1 - 1 contrasting H1 subject + 1 GP + 1 Pw -
