I remember someone saying something about this but couldn't for the life of me find that thread!
Anyway, if you do find any pre-school or kindergarten that have such kangtao, let us know. The entire group of KiasuParents will be descending on that pre-school!
No... there is no such thing... at least not to the known world... yet. At the rate schools are getting more \"integrated\", I do see the possibility of Primary schools spawning off pre-school education programmes in the future. -
Maybe you may want to check the following Kindergarten where they are being affilated to the Primary School. Maybe can get Phase O.
(i) Nanyang Kindergarten (Nanyang Primary)
(ii) Magdalene's Kindergarten (Canossa Convent Primary) -

Yes... also St Andrew's Ascension Kindergarten!Maybe you may want to check the following Kindergarten where they are being affilated to the Primary School. Maybe can get Phase O.

Hm...i thought i read somewhere that NYK is not affiliated to NYPS, did a quick check and http://www.nanyangkindergarten.com/faq_schoolinfo.html it is.Maybe you may want to check the following Kindergarten where they are being affilated to the Primary School. Maybe can get Phase O.

Q4: \tIs Nanyang Kindergarten affiliated to Nanyang Primary?
A: No. We are not affiliated to Nanyang Primary School. Nanyang Primary School is a government school which needs to cater to the residents who live within 1-km distance from it. However, Nanyang Kindergarten is part of the \"Nanyang Family\" (Nanyang Kindergarten, Nanyang Primary School & Nanyang Girls' High School). -
Nanyang Kindergarten not affillated to Nanyang primary? Wow had check their fees, indeed one of the higher range type.

Some kindergartens do have affiliation with the Primary Schools (eg. Barker Road Methodist Church Kindergarten is affiliated to ACSP & ACSJ) BUT that affiliation isn’t going to help the parent during Pr 1 registration as putting ur child in that kindergarten will not give you any priority in any of the phases! The affiliation that matters during Pr 1 registration is through churches or clans.
Thankfully too or like what chiefkiasu said, there will be hoards of kiasuparents signing up their kids at xxx kindergarten! At present time, there’s already a crazy demand for certain (branded) kindergartens so can u imagine what will happen if affiliation of kindergarten to pr schools are recognised under Pr 1 registration. -
Sniper Angel:
It is official that no kindergarten are affiliated to any primary school in terms of priority registration. Got this from official source.Maybe you may want to check the following Kindergarten where they are being affilated to the Primary School. Maybe can get Phase O.

-
Sniper Angel:

helloagain:

No. None. Zero.
What is possible is this :
Church run kindergarten - church members enroll
Church run primary school - church members who are certified by the church leadership to entitle to Phase 2A or 2B ..... got priority before the \"open category\" of phase 2C
So, if you are member of that church....it may APPEARS that kindergarten has affiliation to primary school which is actually NO 1 -
I think many parents are disappointed with the no affiliation thing … change church ? too late ??
so back to the usual routes : alumni, PV, move house, etc -
If there is affiliation for kindergartens to primary schools, the wait list will be EVEN longer for Nanyang, Glory (Pei Hwa) and Barker Road Methodist Kindergarten (ACS).
Just based on attending the church, if there is affiliation, church members would have taken up big bulk of places. Methodist church members take up many places for methodist schools like MGS (Phase 2B). -

without any affiliation, some kindergartens have waiting list as soon as the child is born ..... no joke!If there is affiliation for kindergartens to primary schools, the wait list will be EVEN longer for Nanyang, Glory (Pei Hwa) and Barker Road Methodist Kindergarten (ACS).

some churches have strict guidelines for their members to qualify under phase 2B too (usually serving / in some leadership position), else u can imagine people changing church all the time ..... lolIf there is affiliation for kindergartens to primary schools, the wait list will be EVEN longer for Nanyang, Glory (Pei Hwa) and Barker Road Methodist Kindergarten (ACS).

So glad there is no more such affliation rubbish for pre-school.
That is a sensible move. Already so stressful about P1 registration, can’t imagine if it starts years earlier. -
I heard about the long wait list for some kindergartens…mind you, that’s only kindergarten/preschool.
Fortunately MOE has put in place a system ie the different phases. If affiliation starts at kindergarten level, there will be no vacancies for parents who do not attend church or do not have $$$, as some kindergarten feels can be sky high. -
Hi all,
I am looking for a good kindergarten for my daughter. I live in Punggol. need a facility where my child can larn proper English. Secondly, more emphasis on social skill enhancement rather than purely academic.
I need your Kiasuparents help in this. -
I think they’re “advertising” for their kindergarten by saying that it’s “part of the family”. Guess they’re trying to create more queues and make people thinking that they’re related to Nanyang then parents will think that they’re “good school”. Then school fees can be risen, etc. Singaporean’s mentality is “if there’s queue means it’s good” but the fact is not all.

Unfortunately some parents mistakenly assume that Nanyang K and BRMCK will give their kids priority in P1 registration. Only to realize too late. Actually not too late because both Nanyang K and BRMCK are good kindys.
Just like some parents mistakenly assume that RGPS is affiliated to RGS.
Too much misinformation so it’s good that we have this forum to clear up the doubts of people.
