i heard it is Sxxxxx pri school and their 1st prelim was during the june hols! the 1st prelim results were not counted in the report book though[/quote]Wow. The 1st prelim is so early. I heard from my nephew that their prelim is in last week of August.

May be with this extra effort put in, the school had managed to go in the \"List of primary schools with at least one pupil with PSLE aggregate score of 275 or more\" in year 2009.

My son’s prelim starts next Thursday, after the national day break. After prelims, still got common test, equivalent to prelim, so as good as taking prelim twice, after the September holidays, before PSLE. Got back his oral prelim results. Teacher even gave the breakdown for all the 3 components and comments from invigilators. I think they should have done that for SA1 too as the next oral would be PSLE already… Haiz…

For Montfort, we r having A so call Mock Exams now - PSLE settings, then late August is Prelim…

I think this arrangement is gd though stressful for kids… Now it’s alot of past yr top sch prelim papers drilling too…

I can see my twins struggling but I find it a gd practise for them…
At least I can try to go through with them next mth as revision…

My prelims are in August, I think the week right after the PSLE Listening Comprehension examination.

I’m in a neighbourhood school in Sengkang and I know of one school here in Sengkang which have 2 prelims (CA2 and Prelim ).

My friend is from that school and I they are currently taking their CA2/Prelim 1 now.

I think it does not matter whether a school has 1 Prelim or 2 Prelims. What matters is - 'how closely the Prelims resemble the real PSLE exam standards?'

If Prelims are too tough, it may break the confidence level of students.

If they are too easy, the students will become 'too slack'.

The trick is to achieve the 'perfect resemblence to PSLE'. I wonder how many schools achieve that. Can anyone throw more light on this?
