so one with 6 nett with hmt and one without they will take the one without? isn’t sji IB more competitive with more students want to enter?
-
Indeed, SJI IB programme will be more competitive.
If your DD plans to go hybrid, she must understand that COP has Science and Art difference
So weigh the 1st choice carefully
-
Yep, read section 3, para 1.3, but before considering gross score, it is first based on nett score, and priority is to Singaporeans then PR then others in case of tie. Only after that will gross score be used as tie-breaker, followed by computerised balloting.

Sji 7 pt last year, higher than acjc sci 6 pt
-
from what i recall i believe sji is now 6 this year.
are chances gg to acjc high with 6 nett? -
Chances are gd I think. If she doesn’t get in, she can appeal if her score at least equals the cop, and she put the school as first choice.

My son has scored 7(minus 2 for CCA) = 5 points for his O Levels. His results are as follows:
English A1
Humanities A2
E Math A1
A Math A1
Physics A1
Chemistry A1
Biology A1
MT B3
He is considering between VJC A level and ACSI IB Diploma.
As A Levels seems a natural continuation of O Levels we feel it will be better suited for him. But VJC is very far from our house as we live in the north. At the same time we have a few apprehensions regarding the ACSI IB, since he comes from a O level track and has to compete with ACSI IP students. I believe ACSI prepares their IP students for the IB’s ‘Extended Essay’ and ‘Theory of Knowledge’ by provided bridging course in Sec3 and Sec4. Hence would O level students be disadvantaged? Anybody with their kids joining from O level to IB please share your experience. How did your kids cope? My son is strong in English but could not cope up very well with Literature in lower secondary. Would this affect his performance in IB? He reads widely, but mostly non-fictional books. Would that be a advantage or a disadvantage for IB? I’m mainly trying to gauge his suitability to the IB program. Any inputs from fellow parents and students are very much appreciated. Thanks. -
If VJC is far, what about NJC?
I don’t know anything about IB Prog but I understand its not as demanding n stressful as A levels.
I believe what is more important is where your ds’ interest lies in. Regardless of whichever stream, both are challenging. If his interest lies in IB rather than A levels, I am sure he will put in a lot of efforts to do well.
Is there an Open House for you to find out more info? -
Thank you zbear for your inputs. He is attending VJC open house today. Will try to gather more info so that we can choose what suits him.

I like to advise all parents and students to be very careful when you submit your application.
Based on what I see from this year's S1 Posting, 2015 COP is not a very good indicator of what might be this year's COP. MOE is very good at springing surprises.
Good luck to all and may you get into your dream JC.
