Assuming he'll enlist in January or latest April, he only has about 1-3 months for volunteering.
Guys, My friend's son sat A level this year. He hoping to apply NUS medicine (He confident he can score all As). Before he go army we like him to do some volunteer works which may boost his medical application. Is there any opportunity to do volunteer work? Thanks
He can try those willing hearts food prep/food delivery kind of volunteering where no training is required and they need people on a daily basis.
If he's looking to volunteer at homes / hospitals, this covid-19 pandemic has literally closed all such doors. Pre-covid days, such organizations look for at least 6 months - 1 year commitment because such volunteer work require some form of training. Cos you can't just throw any newbie to work with people who have some form of needs.
If he hasn't been volunteering all his school days, the med school also know he's just doing some form of work to boost his portfolio. -
Is there a link somewhere on the number of students taken in via JAE for the following JCs
- RI
- HCI
- VJC
- NJC
- EJC
- TJC
- DHS
-ACSI
- SJI -
Good Luck & Best Wishes to students receiving their GCE A Level results today :rahrah:

Which JCS will continue to shine in their A level results?
RI/HCI or Ny continues its improving results?
Will DHS results drop after admitting JAEs?
Will VJC results continue to slip further this time?
The newly EJC has yet to prove its statue. What about this time?
Will NJC, TJC be able to do better after adverse feedbacks their results have dropped many years ago?
Rvhs 36% with 3 H2 A in yr 2018. This time? -
Ha...are you another one from NYJC promoting the school? No offence... I am trying to find out how NYJC perform, every year it is a mystery. Ha...

RI mean 84.5
HCI mean 85
Ny Medium 86
Vjc Medium 85
Ejc Medium 85
Dhs mean 80.4
Tjc mean 81.
Acjc mean 79.9 -
Ha... Don't get so work up. Anyway, median score is not accurate. Which JC is good, people will know how to see for themselves. Don't have to actively promote NY JC. Ha!!! No offence hah...take it easy.

I stated what its known.
Median score not accurate, its used often to reflect standard other than Mean.
True, people can see which JCs are good.
Just that ksp parents cant really.
So learn the 3As in this new norm. -

Since it is difficult to get the \"Mean\" (Average) of Nanyang JC, as it is a mystery for NYJC to discloss their \"Mean\", let us standardize and compare the \"Median\" then.

From \"Median\", can also roughly gauge standard of the A-level results, from each JC.
Anyone know,
for Science stream (2020 A-level batch, born 2002),
what's the \"Median\" (not \" Medium\" ), for
- Dunman High ?
- Temasek JC ?
- National JC ?
- River Valley High ?
- Anglo-Chinese (ACJC) ?
- Anderson-Serangoon JC ?
- Tampines-Meridian JC ?
- Jurong-Pioneer JC ?
- Hwa Chong JC ?
- RI ?
