      ...Is it all IB lectures are physical (no online or recorded) for the schools in Singapore offering it?
      Hi. When the lecture falls on a HBL day, it can be online. Rarely, when it is a cohort common lecture, it can be such that students are sitting in class watching a recorded lecture. (Afaik in our school) Lectures are typically 'physical'

        Thanks Phtthp.

        I would opt for the availability of pre-recorded lectures any time. I find it better as I can self pace.
        Part of the reason
        why RI adopt this kind of pre-recorded lectures (style) for all their 4 H2 subjects, is because

        according to RI ...
        it makes no difference whether the students are sitting inside the lecture theatre premises physically or not. RI said that when the lecturer stand in front of all Year 5 or Year 6 IP students

        or

        stand in front of all the JAE students on the stage, once he (lecturer) open his mouth to talk, to start delivering the actual lecture content for that day, he will be talking all the way non-stop until the lecture end. I mean, no IP or JAE student sitting inside the LT premises is going to stop the lecturer half way through the lecture , and start asking the lecturer questions.

        Even if students want to ask questions, at the end of the lecture after the lecture has ended, the student can still go (walk) down the steps to the front stage and ask the lecturer directly, to clarify certain doubts there & then on the spot, which the lecturer has raised or talked about during the lecture, just now.

        ==================

        However, some of the non-IP JCs' students are not comfortable at all with having all their entire 4 H2 subject lectures pre-recorded all the way, where u can press a button to fast forward to that particular part (or section) to play back, and re-hear one more time. Many of these students still prefer the traditional method of the lecturer standing \"live\" in front on the stage, and deliver the lecture content.
        So, some of these Non-IP JCs' lecturers are still conducting lectures physically, inside the LT premises.

        LT : lecture theatre

        ==========================

        Note

        IB classroom mode
        ================

        In Year 5 & 6 (the final exit, last 2 years of IB programme, in
        IB Independent schools in (ACSI + SJI) :-

        they don't operate this lecture theatre style.

        Their IB students still operate in the traditional classroom system mode, whereby each class have less than 30 IB students, thereabout.

            Reviving this discussion abt online “live”/pre-recorded lectures in JC (versus on-site physical lectures).

            Does anyone have a handy list of which JCs still have physical lectures in 2024? Eg if u visited the various JC open houses and managed to ask.

            I just happened to be chatting with DS today about tangential JC stuff & he blurted out that he would prefer actual lectures vs watching on a screen (despite being able to fast fwd some).[/quote]
            It's still a few years before our kids are due for JC. So I think it's too early to ask now, since schools may change their approach by then.
            There are things which cannot be captured in recording. Hope that face to face will not be completely repkaced by recordings.

                      Call the schools’ general office. Pretty sure they are open by 8am.
