I take a look at the JC cut off points for the past few years. Many JCs have improved their COP over the years. So if the L1R5 nett score is 13-16, there is really limited choices of JC to choose from.

May I know where to obtain the JC cut off points? Will this year be posted after the release of posting results?

Need to see what choices my ds can have for next year.

Usually the students can just go to schools themselves, the student councillors, staff and orientation leaders will guide them what to do next.

Orientation will usually begin right after the administration has been completed and students will use the orientation period to buy their uniforms. Information about subject combination, appeal etc will also be done during the orientation.

As former JC lecturer, I see majority of the students go to schools themselves, parents need not accompany them as they are already of 17 years old or above.
If there is any principal talk the school will inform you. Usually it would be about joining the school parents network. The subject combination, etc would have already been briefed during individual school’s open house.

It will be a new "era" of education and a busy one for your kid.
              Good luck to your kids

2015 is going to be a very kancheong year for our JC2 dd/ds.

Lets all gather often to give each other encouragement to go through this stressful year n may our kids hang in n make it to the finishing line safe n sound.

                    Jia Yu!!!!!
Three weeks in to JC2 & My DD's JC(CJC) briefed about 10% & 90% cut off for Uni.

She says.. she doesn't want to study anything that is not going to be used for rest of life.
Essentially telling me ...\"dun want to get degree for sake of getting it'
She has ARTs combination( Lit, ELL , Maths , Econ-H1)doesn't want to do Law, Econ, Teaching(NIE) .

                    Any Advice?

Has your dd indicated what she career she's interested in? Looking at her subject combination I would have stated the obvious choice of teaching. How about journalism or something related to writing?

Wonder if this is some kind of fad or what cos DD just mentioned this week she wants to study something in uni that she's going to make use of when working. But she doesn't know what she wants to work as. 🤷

I told her many people i know are not doing what they studied in uni. She said she's going to be different from these people. :faint:
