I agree, these camps’ motivation last for only a short while.

But it also depends on the child’s maturity level and the kind of friends he/she is mixing now.
      For example,
My friend had sent her daughter(Once an "ahlian") for Adam Khoo’s PSLE congress(Not as costly, held every year at republic Poly I think.) and her girl found interest in Maths.(Trainer had taught them some useful Maths tips during the talk) so she enrolled her child for the Maths tuition at the Learning Centre. After the talk, her girl seems motivated.
After enrolling her girl to the centre, her girl started to study and her grades for PSLE Maths raise from C to B. Although some motivation was lost after the PSLE, but she continued to let her child stays in the centre as she found that her child started communicating with English. My friend asked her girl why and she says because the friends in the centre communicates mostly in english and as time goes by, she started to use English.
As time goes by, the girl started mixing around more often with the centre’s friends and hence, when she was in sec1, she got into a new school and found herself better friends(Not ahlians one).
The main point is, you may try sending your child to the learning centre , at the same time his/her grades can improve and he/her is able to mix with better friends.

Lastly, some may say the camps are just another pay for extra Laughter and to cry camp.
But I think laughter and crying is an important part of those camps.
If there’s no laughter, children would be bored off hence, not gaining anything. If there’s laughter, children would be awake and he/she would remember that joke for quite a long time . At the same time, remembering the messages.
Crying is a big factor of those camps, if not why your child feels motivated.
Crying would make one remember for a longer time on what had made him/her cry and so, made an impact on her.

Thats all I have to say, so do try consider sending your child there. No harm trying, you can try those previews one or those less costly one.

my nieces also attended before...immediately after it their parents said they are very motivated...but I doubt this type of motivation will last long....and is so xxxx..so need feedback from those parents who had send their kids to this type of talks/camp before...

My colleague's 2 sons went to one. Saw a big change in 1st son (Sec 2) after camp. More helpful and exam results also better. Lasted about 9 months. 2nd son (P6)...slight change only. Both back to pre-camp behavior now...I think parents got to consider \"maturity\" level of their kids too if they want to sign up.

i very much agree that all depends on the maturity level of your kids..my boy went in at P6 (2 yrs ago)...not much change ...went for a resourse..much better now...the funny thing it what they though in the camp is what we as parents 'nag' at them ...time management..study strategy etc :stupid: and we are spending $$$$ to let Adam tell them.

What i learnt is we need to use another strategy to 'tell' them not 'nag' at them.

My school (primary) organised a adam khoo motivational camp for us P6s a few months ago but i don't think it had much use... Maybe it's only me but the techniques they taught (looking for keywords, crossing out options) are common sense.

The only unique thing about the camp is that at the end, there is something very special prepared (maybe it's only for schools, i'm not sure). I don't want to spoil the surprise for parents out there who have sent their children to those camps so i won't say it :celebrate:

i agree! there was lots of crying at the camp and the trainers told interesting stories that somehow inspire and motivate you to do better.

yup, and the only one laughing is Adam Khoo as he laughs his way to the bank with your money.

not forgetting alan yip’s also laughing all the way to the bank. I rem at the buay-koyo session, they made us parents seem small n miserly if we can’t afford to sign up our kids. That’s why they ask the kids to attend the "talk".

Then at the end of the session, they actually have like 10 staffs, sitting at tables waiting to sign you up.

Did we part with our hard-earned money? Yes we did. Sadly, the inspiring, motivated effect lasted only a term. According to the man himself, need to go for refresher for such cases.

My DD is attending AY's High Achiever sessions right now.

My child is very motivated to attend each session as the lessons are driven by personal and group motivation. The materials are typical memory aids techniques and depending on the child to put them to good use. Parents should pay attention to their child's progress.

The report given at mid term only mentions good things...this is very much the underlying principle for AY's MindEdge. Each child is hearing only good things about themselves.

Alan himself always demonstrate his sincerity. He is also always carry his trademark smile whenever he speaks...good impression given to me. He claims he is the top student in the university...no elaboration. :celebrate: AY is full of pride for being the master memory champion/trainer in Singapore...where? Top civil servants?

About his course, the certified trainers mostly are very young. I do have some opinions. These certified trainers; who certified them? AY himself? I do not bother asking now that my DD is already attending the lessons. :stupid: :moneyflies:

If you attend his free seminar, be prepared to face the offer of 'great' discount and paying close to $3K if you decide to sign up. My experience is the marketing techniques are pretty much similar to Midchamps after reading at separate posting. :moneyflies:

As for the results; i believe only time and continuous effort put in will tell. However, I appreciate any parents' input how the MindEdge Experience of 'Funtastic Parenting' has helped in developing their child(ren). 🙏

My dd’s sec school engage High Achievers for the year 1 class bonding programes (in school, after end of year exam, free), Student counsellor and support leaders programe (in school, we only pay a nominal fee). They have interesting programes and games to teach them about leadership, team work and bonding.
