Hi Engkidz,
So have you sign up your kid for the Lcentral holiday programe.
Do you know what is the difference between LCentral and ICR AWES programme.
What is the cost range of the LCentral course as currently, i am still in the mid of browsing and deciding which course to let my child take. -
HI Monster Mummy
I think AWES in ICR is different to Success in LCentral. The feedback I got when shopping around was that LCentral is better for this programme. It's more alligned to MOE syllabus. Also I ask to see the materials and ICR said \"none available\" and LCentral show me.
I bring my child for the assessment at both places now and my child like the teacher at LCentral, not pushy, very welcoming. Also ang moh like ICR and the school is from Australia too. I decide to enrol in LCentral for the holiday programme because if I like I can continue, if not no problem to withdraw. I think the holiday programme is reasonable price so not losing anyting.
Did you take your child for assessment at ICR? I think the price of the programmes is quite similar if I remember correctly.

Hi Engkidz
Currently, my kid is with ICR programme. Therefore, i was wondering whether to let him to continue to ICR AWES.
So in term of ICR AWES, you do not know whether they are aligned to MOE syllabus. -

But I think the material is good.
Will try out ICR first. Will post feedback when I have more knowledge of it. -
Hi EngKidz
Where is the LCentral outlet?Engkidz:
Hi Donkey
I was interested to read your post. I am also thinking of enroling my 10yo in ICR Buit Timah. My fren says her duaghter did well there in the reading programme but not so good in the exam skills lesson.
I shop around quite a lot and found LCentral. It is the same as Literacy Circle they just rebrand this year only. Someone told me their Eng exam skills programme better than ICR and I notice they open up in Bukit Timah plaza already. New centre, can it be good? I guess all the centre standard the same but I think I want to take my child for assessment there before I commit to ICR.
Plz tell me if u enrol in ICR and what you think. Do they do hol programmes? I think Lcentral does maybe this a good way to find out if centre any good.

Hi Monster Mummy and honeybeel
I think ICR AWES is alligned with MOEβ¦all tuition centres are nowadays I guess. Not good business if not. My opinion is that if the teacher is passionate and like his/her job and get on well with my child, that is very important.
If material is great but teacher is not then no improvement will be made. I think thats what good about ICR/LCentral. The initial assessment allow you to meet teacher.
If anyone else have opinion on these two companies I would like to hear. -
Hi sunset
The website is http://www.lcentral.net
They have many centres. The one I enrol is Bukit Timah Plaza. -
thanks
-
Hi Engkidz,
What programme do you enrol your kid in. -
Hi Monster Mummy
I went with LCentral. I will do their holiday programme for the advanced (P5 and P6) level. It is $40 per lesson for a week. Then after see how my dd likes it, I may enrol for next year regular class.
The assess is free. So can go and anyhow try.
