thanks Engkidz.
Quite true, since it is free assessment, we can let them assess first and decide.
Do you know how long is the assessment been valid. -
Hi Monster Mummy
I think its worth it to shop around. I think the assessment is always free. Same as ICR. Then teacher rec a programme, explain a bit about the programme and look at timings if interested.
I brought my child to Bukit Timah Plaza ICR and LCentral and my feeling is better at LCentral because the lady show me the materials and teacher was nice.
Btw, no obligation. Both place never force me to join. So good. I guess if u bring for assess now, can think about it for some time then join only if u wan. -
True.
Frankly speaking, I have spoken to staff from both center. They are quite nice.
Maybe one of these days, make an arrangement with Lcentral to bring my kid down for the assessment. -

hi Engkidz, I am considering Lcentral at BTP and ICR at King's arcade. My girl will be P6 next year and I thought Lcentral is more suitable. But ICR is near to her sch so she can attend the wkday classes, and she can just walk over from her sch.Hi Monster Mummy
I went with LCentral. I will do their holiday programme for the advanced (P5 and P6) level. It is $40 per lesson for a week. Then after see how my dd likes it, I may enrol for next year regular class.
The assess is free. So can go and anyhow try.
C
Both are new centres so the class size is small which is what I like.
Wd appreciate if you can share more after your dd's holiday programme with Lcentral.
Thanks in advance. -
Hi Sesame
I understand about conveinence. In fact LCentral is easy for me to reach but ICR in same building. So I go to assess first to see which one better…
I will inform everyone if any progress when my dd finish her programme but I know tht ICR have P5/P6 together in one class. LCentral have speical PSLE prog. 33 wks long I think its better. Maybe you can take ur dd for assess first at both centre because its free.
The 2 companys seem to be quite the same but I think that the opinion of most ppl is that LCentral better for help wit exams.
Anyone have diff opinion pls say…I want to make right choice for my dd too! -
hi,
In fact, the more we hear, we might think that there are more better course outside since our intention is for the benefit our children.
But ultimately, it will depend on the kids on which course they are more happy with. -
Hi
Just signed up my girl for P2 program at LCentral for next year. Am impressed by their teacher and materials. Our darling is also very excited abt going for class, which is a positive thing. Best part was that they have a suitable timeslot for us!
We did the assessment at ICR a few months ago but did not sign up as the teacher is a Filippino - rather prefer a native speaker or a local. -
Just came across this thread and thought I’d share my experience here.
My K2 ds (he’ll be in P1 next year) has been with ICR for about 1.5 years now. He progressed from TCS, then PRP and now in ICR program. So far, we have seen tremendous improvement.
He couldn’t read at all when first joined. Now, he is able to read independently, and even able to spell new words just by listening, even though he has not seen them before.
Most importantly, he enjoys the lessons. I think that it is fortunate to have teachers (TCS- local malay teacher, PRP and ICR - native speakers) that relate to the students very well and are able to make the lessons fun and effective for them.
