Following your track, I wrote to the Crescent Girls' principal to ask if my daughter can also go for the dance audition. Mrs Lim is very kind and looking through my daughter's appeal, offered my daughter a place. Just went to sign the letter to say she'll serve the school community.

Congrats, 2ppaamm! i understand only 3 gals got selected via e dance audition.

poke4ernest, don't loose heart. my friend's DD went for the audition but didnt get thru too. I know how it feels to be in a limbo, with books, sch uniform n all not settled but there are still cases of gals who got posted to crescent appealing out to other schools. This will be finalised only by next wk n though limited, there's still chance. keep ur chin up ok?

Hi Breezy. I think they are looking for more than just basics during the dance audition..so my DD has little chance.

Tom, i maybe going to get her textbks and uniforms as next week will be the beginning of the new school term.

Don't worry lah, my daughter's not taking the place eventually. We just got another acceptance from another school, and we're going there because that's where my other daughter is. Sorry, didn't know that you will feel this way. My daughter didn't go through dance, anyway. The school does not want to limit her for dance and want her for sports instead even though I asked, so your info helped me to know the status but we didn't grab your place or spoil your chance. Good luck to you. Keep trying, the principal is great. My suggestion is to write to her. I think that helps a lot. Hope this helps you in return. PM me, I will give you her email address.

Write to her and tell her girl's specialty, that's what I did. Highlight her strengths and let her know that dance may not be her forte. Go for it. Call every hour on the hour, keep calling. Talk to everyone in the office, ask to talk to the teacher in charge, the principal, if they are not free, ask them who you can talk to instead. Offer this (service), offer your daughter's involvement in the school community. Praise the school for what you observed to be great. Make your presence felt. They will soon register your interest. You've got to fight for her. If you won't, who will? Today, when I was there, I saw another girl accepting an offer. They are able to offer now, so don't worry about face and keep doing it. Tomorrow office opens only half day, so you have very few hours. Just keep up the pressure. GO!! :rahrah:

So far, i have corresponded with the principal many times via email...(but i have never call the office). I submitted the appeal form with testimonials and certificates of achievements. I also got a testimonial from the music teacher about her flute talent..Maybe I refuse to believe that my DD didnt do as well as she should be as she has been in the top 10% of the cohert until her PSLE. but I am getting tired, really tired.
