OngMum:
Hi there,
I would like to know if there’s any difference between Chung Cheng Main and Chung Cheng Yishun.
Do you think a child who is from a Convent Pri school can adapt easily to the school environment and its culture? Main is at the east somewhere around tanjong katong area and north for the yishun branch, very strong chinese culture
Main cop 24+ school excellent award express only
Yishun cop 23+ express and NA
visit the school website to find out more.

Thank you for the information, tansim2010.
Before posting my earlier enquiry, I read on the brief history of Chung Cheng in Yishun branch website, I thought the two schools are merged as one. I did not dive in further to check out Chung Cheng Main.
I supposed both schools operate in the same platform, yes?
Thank you. Cheers! -

DD just got into this school, can someone from this school or any parent know more about this school and can give some advice as to what to expect from this school, heard that teachers usually give out notes and seldom touch the text books? But we already bought all the texts… Doesvthis school do any grading on their students in way of classes? Is it true that some classes are having children who are better in their languages and they group them up together in a class? Are children facing much stress from this school? First time having sec 1 kid studying, a bit worried and excited!

hi, how is all ur kids first day in sch?

DD cannot decide which CCA to
Choose, would Like to hear your advice. She prefers uniform group, so not sure St John, girl guide or NPCC is more interesting? She heard seniors said girl guide is boring… Is it true? Any one can advise? -
St john is a cca that teaches you first aid, discipline, and builds teamwork among their members. They will also attend many camps, some of which are leadership camps. At least for my school, it is organised mostly by the seniors and teachers aren't really involved in it except that they occassionally drop by to see.
Girl guides is quite a relaxing cca compared to the rest of the ugs such as ncc, npcc. Check out http://www.girlguides.org.sg/
Npcc is quite a good cca since you learn a lot of stuffs others won't really get a chance to try. Check out http://www.npcc.gov.sg/ -

Many thanks, Blablah. Wondering if you are from CCHS and it is good to see that someone can give some advice to all sec 1 and their clueless parents.St john is a cca that teaches you first aid, discipline, and builds teamwork among their members. So, can I say that it is fair chance for any uniform group to get good CCA points compare to club and societies since they basically engaged in many actiivities, DD is now quite interested in NPCC, just wondering if it will take up 2 days of staying back in school and long hours of marching?
Guess next Saturday, the CCA day, we would have to check it out at different CCA booths and consider properly as I heard that you are not allow to change CCA if you join UG. -

If I am correct, for other cca, can only change beginning of each year but once u join uniform group, then cannot change because they will reset yr cca point… I saw from some other tread. Correct me if I am wrong.
Nothingtodo, yr kid sec 1 is it? How is he coping?
