Went for open house on Sat, we have pretty good impression about the school, the students speak well, behave-well.
However, I’m kinda surprised to read negative comments about the school.
Coming home late - wondering does this happen to most Sec Sch.
Teach less - why? is it only that particular class/teacher or is it in general?
hope to hear more feedback about the school. -
I share the same sentiments. The open house was well run. Principal and teachers are warm and friendly. Students are well behaved and spoke well. My sense is small cohort helps school to be able to focus better on the kids. Noted the school does not offer technical.
If there is less school homework, how do the kids cope with weekly tests? Seems like the school also focus on academic excellence which is good.
Went to other open houses on that day. Peirce is the only school with presence of parent volunteers at the sharing session. -
Hi,
Just to share my little opinion.
Dd didn’t do well in her PSLE 2 years ago. We also headache during school selection. We had limited choice so we went to various sch with COP 225 range. We visited sch like Geylang Methodist, Bowen, Mayflower, Katong Convent, AMK, St. Joseph Convent etc. We spoke to teachers and Principals. In the end, we selected Peirce.
Reason is Peirce’s Principal is the most approachable, patience and friendly.
But the main reason is the % of JC eligibility is so high as > 90%. Other schools only 60% to 80%. I was amazed that given student of COP so low in PSLE and yet the school can produce a result of > 90% eligibility to JC. Therefore we selected Peirce.
Now Dd is able to perform well in Peirce and she is happy there as she can get $500 every year from govt for her performance. This encourages her the most. Should she go to other competitive environment, she may not have a chance. She stands out in her CCA and was given a chance to lead in stage. Moreover, she can even selected as Student leader.
Should you need more information, you may PM me. -

How are the teachers and students generally? Environment wise, is it nurturing and focus on values? Appreciate some sharing. Thanks. -
