24hr-mum:
How is the school
Once they are mergered , you won't know till a few years later
-
Hi. Does anyone know if the school will be taking in N(T) in 2018. Read that there’s a merger w Bishan Park Sec Sch.
Am in the midst of selecting Sec Sch for DC. also looking at Mayflower. Ahmad Ibrahim.
May I know how’s the discipline like in Peirce?
Thanks. -
Hi any feedback ?

Not sure about NT intake. Better check with the school.
No issue with discipline when it is solely Peirce students because I think it is overly strict. Never have public caning before. Not sure about discipline after merger next year with Bishan Park Sec. Next year will have new principal. Heard is from Deyi, another strict school. Too strict a school cause students to resent the school. Some Peirce students choose to switch school due to this reason. Warning: orientation is like an army boot camp with the old principal. -
Thanks!
The new P will be Betty Chow. From West Spring sec. We went to the Open house today and learnt that there are 3 express, and 2 NA classes. But they will be joined by Bishan Park due to merger next year and the speaker didn’t mention the profile of BPSS students.
Can I check w you about academic. Does the school push the students to work hard? Cos I read in earlier post from a few years ago that the school is v lax w schoolwork, so not sure how is it like now
We heard fr the talk today that they have 91% of express students who qualify for jc/millennia institute. But they didn’t mention how many % qualify for jc alone. -
If you compare with other schools of about the same COP, 91% qualify for JC meaning, L1R5 <= 20 points, is quite good already. That is one of the reasons we enrolled DD in the school. It shows something about the school’s approach to teaching. The VP for academics is a very caring person. However DD resented the school for its strictness. And DD does not have discipline issues.
The school’s niche is in Uniform groups. However their Show Choir group is top notch. -
Thank you v much for the info. Appreciate it.

I did clarify with school’s personnel, 91% including admission to Millennia Institute. It’s about 50% eligible for JC. -
Thanks TWU. Useful info. Yes I recall they lumped JC/MI together as one category when they reported 91+% of students qualify.
