It's ok Janet... don't have to be afraid. I have done mine 4 years ago and so far so good.
I couldn't describe the joy I felt on the first night I did lasik. Everything around me was so clear when I switched off the lights... In fact, too clear that I was not used to it..
Can you imagine you could see the stars in the sky so clearly including everything in the room?... so much so that I thought I had forgotten to remove my specs before sleeping... Everything around me was just too clear (without wearing specs)... when normally the moment you take off your specs to sleep, everything around you will be blur...
Wonderful feeling that I can never forget.
Me too. -
Can anyone recommend any good doctors at Parkway or National Eye Ctr?

Dr Lee Hung Ming, very nice and skillful. Did my LASIK with him in 2006 while he was still at TTSH. Perfect eyesight ever since.

Any idea what;s the waiting time & fees payable at TTSH vs private practice? -
No heโs now at Parkway. I did about 5 yrs ago so canโt comment on waiting times now. He was senior surgeon at TTSH so I paid more than $4k then. You can google about him and call up to enquire.

Iโm seriously considering LASIK surgery to correct my eyesight. Anyone who has done it and can share with me on the experience and recommend a good surgeon?
Thanks in advance! -
I had a good experience doing mine in Bangkok. Was stationed there 2001. Did it at the TRSC Lasik Centre. They do only lasik there, it is like an office environment. Cost was ~S$2000 for two eyes, and both eyes were done in the same session. Myopia went from 800/1000 to perfect. The first 6 months, one eye could see a faint overlapping image, but this corrected itself.
Hubby also did his shortly after and is fully satisfied. Later, I found that a colleague, stationed in Manila then, also did his Lasik there with no problems. It was half the Bangkok price!
