Anybody can share how to prepare in the simplest manner on salted veg toufu soup? Is it boil water with some meat, salted veg plus bean curd would do?

I usually add tomatoes and also 1 or 2 pieces of bottled plums... but plums is optional if you don't want to put, but I think tomatoes are a must.

Also, I want to boil peanut with chicken feet (but I will replace by meat since I dont eat that feet). What type of peanut is used? I went to ntuc & shopnsave. I saw many types of nuts (at Dried Food section) but unsure which is the right peanut for this soup.

You can buy the normal white peanuts (brown skin) that you see at the dried food section or get them from Chinese Medical Halls.

If you want, you can also add the black beans as it has high nutritive value. You may want to add in a few pieces of dried cuttlefish or dried oysters or dried scallops to make it even sweeter. Mmm, yummy!

i don't use plain water to boil the soup, i'll use soup base,
which for this soup will be Bone soup (big bone), instead of chicken stock.
remeber to soak the salted veg for at least 15-30 minutes, to get rid of the excess saltiness.

buy those peanuts (with brown skin) which are smaller in size, easier to soften.
the big ones take a longer time to be soften.

but raw peanuts with chicken feet soup taste better than boiling with pork ribs.

or u can boil raw peanuts with Fish-head or fish tail.....(need to deep-fried first)
so as to get rid of the fishy smell......Yummy

:hi5: yes, tomatoes is a must for salted veg with tofu soup.
i also add in 1-2 plums, unless the tomatoes are too sour.
