Hmmm, have been wondering whether to share my reason since my colleagues are suspecting my identity. Anyone is welcome to know who I am except them, as what I type here on the forum is not to be associated with the company in any way. Confused? Yah, it's very late now, I'm really tired and hubby's nagging me to death. Anyone else have this dilemma abt having to keep their forum id secret from colleagues?

Well, back to why mathsparks? Since sec days, I've developed a strong passion for A Maths, put it aside for donkey years; when my girl was in sec school, i picked it up again and am currently learning H2 Maths along with her. Keeps the mind sharp on top of my regular sudoko workouts.

      As for the avatar. It's a pie.3.142????

If I am you, I won't want my colleagues to identify me too. Anyway whatever is written here is not of their concerns šŸ™‚

          Muffins:
So, I just wanted to ask, which one is more accurate, babelfish, or babylon. Quite confused right now. :?: :? TIA. šŸ˜„

Hmm...sorry, can't help you here cos I don't trust online dicts that much when it comes to translating foreign words, especially when you try to translate anything longer than a phrase. I tend to break up the phrases/sentences and go by prior knowledge, friends' help and instinct when using online dicts.

Anyway, in percussion, when the score is labelled for \"schellen\" it generally refers to the instrument that looks like a stick covered with bells on all sides. The bells in this case are the kind you would find on keychains, pet collars, etc, not the handbells. The sound produced is kinda like sleigh bells. Er, something like this:

                  Eagle-Ladybird:
Eagle is the nick for my son, and Ladybird, for my daughter. We don't really use these nicks on the children, and so they don't know them.

It started off in the early days when my son was still an infant, sitting in the carseat at the back. When we drive, he will fall asleep so often, that me and wife developed this \"talking in codes\" : \"eagle's staring in space\"; \"eagle's flying low\"; and finally \"eagle's down, eagle's down\" when he actually dosed off.

And when our lovely girl came along, the same \"codes\" were used in the car ride, and she's the Ladybird, as she somehow develop a liking for this ladybird stuff toy.

Today, we hardly use such \"codes\" as they hardly fall asleep in car ride . . . not even our long drive from Cameron to Singapore
                  Hi Eagle-Ladybird,

Thx for sharing, yours too, is an unusual nick and thats really a sweet story.

Yes, I guess its common for parents to speak in codes. We do too, but nothing fancy, just use phrases like 'our friend' or we spell out certain words cuz DS knows what we'er talking about.

wow! you guys have impressive nicks but for myself it was just a name that I pluck from nowhere. It was the first 2 words that came to my mind and I just use it. Never give it much thought.

Hi peapot, your name is impressive, even though you \"plucked it out of nowhere.\" Compared to my name, Muffins, peapot is very imaginative.
