Anyone tried the program? My P4 girl is attending math and science program at Mathhub @ bukit batok. And she enjoy them so far. Thinking to sign up English Program as well next year.

I dislike Mathhub coz they publish your kids name and result on their web, even if you quit or did not attend the specific training module such as NMOZ during holiday. If the kids score top/distinction, it may means they just being trainned and by MathHub, else if the result is so so, it is not so nice also...

I pull my kid out due for this reason and join training centre who does not publish students result on the web.
Not only Mathhub do that, other ctr doing the same thing, like Mind stretcher. So long the kids, are in their ctr before.

          Hi Awonder

Since your ds is doing well in syllabus we would recommend he take on Olympiad Math. Reason being there’s a higher chance he would develop a stronger interested in math with the challenges and thinking skills involve in Olympiad Math. To handle PSLE math, OM is not crucial. However, the interested, skills and speed develop in OM is generally helpful.

Hi Maths Hub, thanks for your feedback. But I had heard that OM is quite different from the Maths syllabus and mainly for competition and self achievement. Worry if picking up OM, would it be extra burden for him?

Hi Awonder, the end result for individual would be very subjective depending on the child reception to the OM training. Majority of students who relish the challenges would move on and excel in latter years rather than being burdened. However for children not receptive to OM training, focusing on syllabus would be better.

Hi, thanks for your advice. Probably I will ask my ds whether he wants to try OM for a term, I think by then he should be able to tell if the lesson is helpful.
