Can I side track a bit…any food lover can advise where can I find good fried Hokkien mee? The stall at chomp chomp…I think is called ‘ah hock fried Hokkien mee’ is no longer there. Their mee is superb and I can hardly find any stall can match their standards!

There’s a popular one at Toa Payoh Lor 1 market, it’s called "Come Daily". I am not a Hokkien Mee fan but there is a queue for this stall and it has been raved by various "makan experts".

used to eat there long time ago, before the market was renovated.

              not bad then.

              is it still as good?

Should be since there’s a queue and the "makan experts" still write about them positively. The carrot cake is definitely good - the one with two ladies that sells only white carrot cake.

Thinking of going to Geylang Lor 29 to try the charcoal fried hokkien mee to reward myself (after ds PSLE) 😉

Does anyone knows if the queue will be long at abt 5pm+? Do they use the opeh leaves?

BTW, come daily doesn't operate in the afternoon /evenings now. 😢
Business too good. They sometimes close at 2pm.

For myself and family, we always eat the "che jian" hokkien mee at Chompchomp. we like the chillies. "che jian" used to be at the back of the row but have moved to the front, next to BBQ chicken wings.

I remember it was very hard to find car parking lot at ChompChomp area. Does this prob still exist?
