I asked earlier this year and was told that it is a few days after the release of the O level results, but the actual date is only announced by MOE when the results are released.

            Based on this year:
            O level - mid-January
            A level - early March

zbear, your kids are doing O and A levels next year? This calls for a huge holidays after the exams. Party from Dec 2015 to end Jan 2016.

Yes n I will be SUPER STRESSED next year when I see them preparing for their exams.

I will also be very wrecked with nerves when the results are released.

Can someone enlighten me, if the results are out in mid-Jan and school starts from early Feb, does it mean there is only 1 week for application and outcome will be out within 1-2 weeks? MOE is very efficient then~

Yes, they are. It's all computerised these days. However, the appeals and the 'musical chairs' can take another couple of weeks (or more) before things settle down.
