Hi I just PMed you my children’s tutor. Just to provide everyone with some info, my kids’ tutor is a math and science specialist.
Like most parents, I have tried and changed multiple tutors for my children (both group and 1-1). This tutor has been with us for quite some time and my children’s results has improved tremendously under him. One of my boy who was in P5 this year, scored 88 and 92 for his Science and Math End of year exams respectively. Meanwhile my oldest son who is waiting for his O level results has consistently scored A1 for his triple science (Biology, Physics, chemistry), A-math and E-math since Sec 3.
This tutor is well-liked by all of my kids as they feedback to me that he is highly approachable and friendly. Furthermore, he doesn’t kill the learning desire of his students by being too strict.
Lastly, this tutor had a good track record, producing multiple A1 and A* students at the PSLE and O level exams.
For his contact, pls pm me directly. For more info, you can contact him. Thanks

            Hi Kelly,

Can you please kindly share your science and math tutor contact number with me? My son is in P5 this year. Thank you.

This sounds like a fake testimonial.

I mean when my child consistently do very well for Sec Sci or Pri Sci, I will not go around promoting the tutor in the centre (unknown and not those popular one), for fear that there are too many students in the tuition class and some parents may be skeptical about my sharing. In addition, providing tuition is only one aspect of helping the child. Sometimes children or teenagers still need academic guidance or explanation from parents even if they have tuition.

                      To all parents out there,

I hope everyone’s kids are coping well. To share some thoughts on secondary school science, my kids’ tutor always reiterate that it is important for your kids to learn and understand the concepts of each topic. He believes that most students may fall into the trap of knowing how to answer questions due to the common mistakes of memorizing their content. While this may work in lower secondary when the level of difficulty and demand is not as high, for upper secondary science students may struggle to handle questions that require them to interpret the data given and apply their concepts to the questions.

To see whether your kids fully understand and internalized the core concepts of each topics, tutors or yourself can give some challenging questions to them. This will stretch their thinking and at the same time help to hone their knowledge of the topic.

All in all, the understanding of concepts and answering techniques (such as dealing with questions data etc) are 2 important techniques to doing well in science. This has been shown in my children results who have consistency been scoring As in their school’s tests. For anyone looking for a science tutor, you can pm me for my tutor’s contact. He has been teaching my children for the past 2-3 years. He also teaches math, so if you are keen, you can also discuss with him regarding math tutoring as well.

Thank you and I wish every parent all the best!!

                        Hi.

I’m looking for recommendation for Maths and Science tuition for Secondary one. I live in Farrer park/ Serangoon region. If you have recommendation for private tuition or tuition centers, I would be grateful. Thanks in advance.
