qms:
Care to share which two will be joining LV, and which 3 will be joining LSH? Please pm me if you prefer.
Has PM you. Those do not own a car would most likely stay in LSH.qms:
The problem is that they do not know LSH is taking over. It was not written in LV's letter.Actually, the briefing is not limited to current parents of LV@NUS. It is opened to the public, too. Hence, if these parents had received e-mail from LV@NUS informing them of the change in operator of the centre, and they knew LSH would take over, they could find out details about the briefing from LSH's website.
qms:
I understand that LV@SP2 will have a bigger play area. I thought that there will be aircon and non-aircon areas there, too? :?
The non-aircon would be the play ground only. Currently, the dining area, ABC circle, walk way, or even classroom and opt for aircon/non aircon.qms:
Ya, for Fion case, she is hard to \"fight\" with NUS's ppl for a seat. However, during LV's briefing, we were told that if we choose to go to new LV before 7 Nov, we can back out latest by 4 Dec (1 month notice) to avoid penalty. So loop hole?I think for Fion's case, it may be easier for her to get into LV than LSH. Why? Because NUS staff will want to put their children in LSH, if they are currently not in LV. For parents who are currently with LV@NUS, some will go with LV, some will stay. Since priority for LSH is given to NUS staff, it seems that the probability of her successfully enrolling her son in LV is higher than LSH.

Hi lzxuan!
lzxuan:
Thanks for the list. Actually, my husband and I thought that the boy would be joining LSH. In fact, my daughter thought so, too. Oh dear! Must tell her that her \"boyfriend\" is going to LV!Has PM you. Those do not own a car would most likely stay in LSH.
lzxuan:
Actually, if the parents had confirmed joining LV@SP2 by 7 Nov, why would they want to withdraw thereafter? The new centre will not be ready. LSH will not have started operating Kent Vale. Hence, any information we have by 4 Dec will not be any different from what it is today. :?However, during LV's briefing, we were told that if we choose to go to new LV before 7 Nov, we can back out latest by 4 Dec (1 month notice) to avoid penalty. Hmm, thought the agreed viewing date for the new center is end Nov? Or different briefing they are agreeing on different things??!! -
hi izxuan,
you mention some of the parents u asked wanna join the LVSP2.
What is the reason since LSH is better in term of the location, environment and the enrichement course? -
Fion Loh:
I think because the kids are K1 now, left with last year. And also the kids are more familiar with the teachers. If I have only one kid in K1 now, I would join LV@SP2 as well. Avoid hessle.hi izxuan,

Just got a phone call from a mummy who attended yesterday's briefing from LSH. Registration fee is not waived, but there is a free set of uniform, extra set selling at $21. The school principal would be a lady named \"Teresa\" (not sure if I got it correctly since I can't really hear her well), who has been with LV for many years, and she was one of the principal at LV@NUS before. A lady with some age. Qms, you know her?
LSH briefing is only served with some Oreo and plain water. So if you scare your kids would need to suffer from hunger, need to prepare your own food.

Hi lzxuan!
lzxuan:
Yes. They simply refuse to waive the $100 registration fee. Maybe you can try for partial waiver when you attend tonight, and see what they say.Just got a phone call from a mummy who attended yesterday's briefing from LSH. Registration fee is not waived, but there is a free set of uniform, extra set selling at $21.
In addition to the free set of uniform (PE), they will give existing LV@NUS parents $100 worth of enrichment program vouchers, perhaps to placate parents for their refusal to waive the registration fee.lzxuan:
Teresa. Hmmm... I know there is this principal called Hepzi. She was the principal of LV@NUS for quite some time, until Dec 06. Apparently, under her, the staff in LV@NUS were still quite cohesive. After she left, a new principal came, and the staff started to create problems. This second principal was in LV@NUS only for a few months. Next came Joanne, and she has been there since then. I do not know of any principals other than these three. The school principal would be a lady named \"Teresa\" (not sure if I got it correctly since I can't really hear her well), who has been with LV for many years, and she was one of the principal at LV@NUS before. lzxuan:
So much for their refreshment. Is that what they are going to serve our children in school, too? :x :nunchuk: :torchme:LSH briefing is only served with some Oreo and plain water. So if you scare your kids would need to suffer from hunger, need to prepare your own food.

LSH also claimed that they have child-minding service during the briefing sessions so that the children can be occupied while the parents attend the briefing. Is it true? -

Sounds like you have more or less decided to go with LSH? -
In their website they mention that in June theyβll be having another renovation so does that mean they wont conduct any classes?
Their enrichement courses are not cheap average about $250 - $300. If given $100 % voucher also not enough. hehe
