My son is now at LV @ Alpha (Science Park). I heard that last time it was in NUS. They just opened in Jan10 so the renovation is still new. The centre is spacious and aircon. They have both indoor and outdoor activities for the kids. Classrooms are closed, each group has its own dedicated classroom.

Overall teachers are friendly and caring, they attend to your concerns, you can ask them how is your kid today and they will happily let you know what your kid did at school. I feel that the teacher-parent connection is strong. The principle and admin also very good, they help clear every of your queries.

My son is going to switch from half-day to full-day, and the principle and the teachers all help him to prepare to stay at school for longer hour. They fully understand that the child need an adaption period. I just love the way they care about my son. Very impressed!

I also visited LV @ Sunshine (CCK) before. It’s run for about 10 years, as thus it’s 1 of the ealiest LV center, which means quite experienced. But the center is a bit old also (facilities). Classrooms are opened, students of this class can see the other class. Teachers are quite friendly. Curriculum is by LV HQ. The school has bus vender, you will need to liase with bus vender yourself.

Both center (i think all LV center) the teacher:student ratio is small, which I also like it.

        Just my 2cents.

            Hi yewteemom!

Which level is your son in?

Yes, LV@Alpha was previously from NUS (Kent Vale). They just started operations in Alpha this year, hence, the new facilities.

Well, it's not true that LV practices low teacher:student ratio. When the centre was previously at Kent Vale, it followed the ratios stipulated by MCYS. Hence, you can imagine how many students one teacher had to look after. In fact, last year, of all the K2 classes in LV across Singapore, LV@NUS had the most number of students.

Infant care is a new service offering from LV@Alpha. I suppose the teachers are all new teachers?

LV’s ratio is not lower than MCYS standard ratios I think… New centre therefore more teachers:children. Should just clarify with them.
