For learning vision isit different centre charge differently?

      Hi Fion!

Yes, different centres charge differently. I guess it is partly dependent on the rent they are paying.

By the way, Learning Vision has signed a 10-year lease at SP2. Hence, you can expect stability over the next 10 years, as in, Learning Vision should be in SP2 for the next 10 years, barring unforeseen circumstances. šŸ˜‰

Btw, after I found out Little Skool House is NTUC subsidiary, I sienz half.

        Hi lzxuan!

My First Skool is the new name for the former NTUC Childcare. Little Skool House is supposed to be more upmarket. So, perhaps it won't be in the same league as My First Skool? :?

If you visit the website, you can't find anything on NTUC. So, perhaps they deliberately market this brand separately. To do so successfully, they must offer something good, right? Just look at the amount they are charging.

Qms, my son used to in Friendly, withdrew him in august since fall sick too frequently. Will enroll him back in Jan. My girl in K1 Courteous.

I know one of your kid was under Pricilia, how about your K1 kid? Same as my girl? šŸ™‚

I meant LV will advise their rate yearly and adjust not more than $50. Wonder will LSH doing the same thing?

For the $100 registration fee, I called up the \"hotline\" they said this is standard procedure. Unless we make more noise next week during briefing to get them waive and free us one set of uniform. Or uniform half price. Hehe.. UNION IS THE POWER. We all need to voice out same thing for every session. I registered for 28 Oct one. You? 27 Oct? If so update me after that. Hee..

Ya, diff LV charge differently, can refer to their website. As far as I know, LV @ IBP charge $1k per month!! So does it mean more \"worth\" to join there since we are charged $480? šŸ˜›

If stay at LSH, the lease is 3 years? So meaning after 3 years there might occur such headache again?! My goodness, my number 3 is only 1 year old, LSH need to \"dong\" there for 6 years at least please...

What a small world! My girl is in K1 Courteous, too. My son is in K2 Dependable. I suppose you know who I am, right? šŸ˜‰

LSH needs to abide by certain regulations set by NUS, including fee adjustment, just like LV for the past 9 years. Hence, LSH needs to advise parents of any impending fee adjustment (which we all know - there's only one direction it will go).

Yes, UNION IS THE POWER! Please raise this up during your session on the 28th. I will only be attending the briefing on 30th. Hence, I need you to update me, instead.

You called up the hotline to enquire, and they told you it was the \"standard procedure\"? I am not surprised they replied you this way. Those people who mann the hotline are not in the position to make any decisions. We should speak to the people higher up in the hierarchy.

Ehh... I don't think it works this way. Different centres have different sets of corporate clients. In Kent Vale, NUS is the corporate client. SP2 - SP2 tenants will be their corporate clients. Similarly, for the IBP centre, the corporate clients will be tenants around that area. So, unless you work in IBP, you cannot \"bring\" your \"corporate customer\" status from NUS to IBP.

LSH bid for the management of the childcare centre together with NUS Co-op. So, perhaps it won't be so easy to \"get rid\" of LSH once the organisation starts managing the childcare centre? :? šŸ˜› This is just my guess.

                    Hi Fion!

                    Congratulations! :celebrate:

So happy for you! What's more, she's offering you the corporate rate! That's why it's always good to talk to the management.

I think I mentioned this in my earlier post. LV doesn't offer half-day program. You are always welcome to bring your child home after lunch, but you still pay the same price as those attending the full-day program. Hence, the $480 refers to the full day program. You still pay $480 if you want your child to be in the centre for half a day.

As for the uniform, I think a set costs about $30. They have the morning uniform, and the afternoon uniform. The morning uniform is the formal uniform (looks like sailors), while the afternoon uniform is t-shirt and shorts.

So, do you still want to attend the briefing organised by LSH or do you want to go with LV?

                      Hi qms ,

Thanks for advising me to email her šŸ™‚
$480 is after the $300 deduction right?
I remember i went to visit LSH at the vista, their half day is $540.
But i'm not sure if i were to pay the deposit does that mean i'll confirm have a place for my son? and how much is the deposit?

For the uniform $30 per set does it include the morning & afternoon sets?
I wanna go to the SP2 centre and have a look than decide. šŸ™‚ not sure how big is the space , if they have any outdoor playground for children?...
As you have mention , the teachers there are good, caring, and wat they teach also not bad... i think that will be a plus point šŸ™‚

I'll still go to LSH and see what they offer. How about you?

                        Hi Fion!

$480 is after the $300 deduction right?
The rate offered to current LV@NUS parents is $480 BEFORE subsidy. Hence, after deducting the $300 subsidy, we pay $180+GST per child. If, like what you mentioned, Joanne is offering you the \"preferential rate\", $480 should be the rate BEFORE subsidy.
                        Fion Loh:
But i'm not sure if i were to pay the deposit does that mean i'll confirm have a place for my son? and how much is the deposit?
I would think that it means you will have a confirmed place for your son if you place the deposit. The deposit should be equivalent to one month's fee, that is, $480. Why don't you clarify with Joanne?
                        Fion Loh:
For the uniform $30 per set does it include the morning & afternoon sets?
The $30 is for each set. Hence, for one day, you need 2 sets (==> $60). So, it depends how many sets you plan to buy. If you want to buy two sets of each type, it will be about $120. :!:
                        Fion Loh:
I wanna go to the SP2 centre and have a look than decide. šŸ™‚ not sure how big is the space , if they have any outdoor playground for children?...
Yes, you should take a look at the place. There is an internal shuttle bus between NUS and SP2. We still need to know the exact location to gauge the feasibility.
                        Fion Loh:

Personally, I feel that it is better to go to a centre where you have feedback on. Curriculum aside, whether the centre is good or bad depends ultimately on the staff in the centre. Learning Vision as a whole may be good, but don't be surprised if you receive negative feedback on other centres. That's because of the staff. As parents, we want to ensure that our children are in good hands. I think this is especially true for you because your son is still young.

For my daughter, she's \"old\" already. She is also the vocal type, hence, she will tell me if she is not happy with something in the school, for which I will then be able to \"action\" on it.

I'll still go to LSH and see what they offer. How about you?
We will attend the briefing by LSH next week before we make any decision. Can you provide feedback after attending the session next Tuesday? Will appreciate it very much!
