If, based on the last conversation we had in LV, all the teachers (or at least those whom we spoke to) seemed happy with LV, and had no intention to switch employer. That was why we were told that 90% of the staff would go to SP2, while the remaining 10% would end up in the IBP centre.
Hence, I think LSH needs to recruit from scratch. -
Hi lzxuan!
lzxuan:
I don't think the distance is \"slightly different only\". Anyway, we will need to find time to try the different routes available....you can always get to SP2 from South Bouna Vista Road -> PGP. I believe the distance should be slightly different only.
Taking the SBV --> PGP route at 5 pm can be a nightmare.
In addition, the shuttle bus from NUS to SP2 comes every 15 minutes. :nailbite: There are different bus services to reach Kent Vale if we miss one service. What's more, Kent Vale has free parking!
It is still acceptable if the difference in distance is not significant. Convenience is also key here.lzxuan:
Well, according to LSH, its teacher-to-child ratio is lower than MCYS standard, and each child will get better attention from its teachers. As for staffing profile, the teachers will be comprised of 20% of Bachelor in Early Childhood Education and the remaining 80% with a Diploma in Early Childhood Education. The team will be guided by the Education Development Team that are made of professionals with Masters and Doctorate in Education. For LSH, I wonder how long the teachers will get know of all the kids? How is the ratio of senior teachers vs newly employed teachers since they are still recruiting. How the kids and adapt to the curiculum? By the time the kids adapt to it, it is time for graduation ceremony. Hee..
So, if the teachers are what the organisation claims, they shouldn't take long to understand the children in their classes. -
Actually last night my husband did mention the for the briefing they may say that their curriclum will be v good , teachers will be v experience but who knows⦠because no one really had experience with them before. As for LV at lease QMS n Izxuan had good experience so still not so bad. Haiz ⦠really headach

Agreed. That's why we must ask them difficult questions during the briefing session.
If possible, ask them as many quesions as possible this evening, ok? Ask until they \"bleed\". :heresmyfish: :nunchuk: :siao:
Anyway, they won't know who you are. You can very well :siam: after that.

Ya, I like the free parking flexibility. If attend to any PTC/celebration, parking is always free.qms:
According to LSH website, the ratio for K1/K2 is 1:20. According to Joanne, they will try to keep to 1:16. The most 1:18.Well, according to LSH, its teacher-to-child ratio is lower than MCYS standard, and each child will get better attention from its teachers. Fion, remember to ask for registration fee waiver tonight. I will make sure this request is raised for tomorrow.

Hi Fion!
But there's nothing to stop you from visiting the centre now, right?
Look at the centre from the outside and \"feel\" it....

Hi lzxuan!
Actually, I am not too sure whether I should believe Joanne in this aspect. Remember how the centre at LV@NUS looked like last year? Due to overwhelming response, they created extra partitions to accommodate more children. To think that LV@NUS was already the largest centre of all Learning Vision centres.
Now that Joanne is trying to \"entice\" parents to go with them, she will of course, make all these claims. Likewise for LSH. It's a matter whether they will honour to these claims. LV will \"try to keep to 1:16\". So, when the time comes, they will just tell you, \"oh! We tried, but not possible.\" :x
At the end of the day, it's a matter of profit and loss. Private centres are profit centres, not cost centres. They will want to make as much profit as possible. Especially so for Learning Vision @ SP2 because they need to make up the lost profit due to charging existing LV@NUS parents corporate rate in SP2.
