Say if you go on your own ...We did not stay at any of the Disney hotels. If I recall correctly, it was an airline promo (i think it was ANA) and we really enjoyed a good deal. I think we paid $1080 for adults and $998 for 11 yo and below. For that price, it included :
- airfare excluding aiport taxes, security charges, etc.
- 4D/3N at Shinagawa Prince Hotel (inc bfast)
- complimentary shuttle service (2-way) to Disney Sea and Disneyland
- 2-day entrance tickets to Disney Sea and Disneyland
We just paid extra for the airport surcharge and extra night stays at Tokyo. In all, I think we spent less than $1,400 per person.
Perhaps u can watch out for NATAS fair. They usually hv good promotions during that period!
Airfare: Northwest always has promo of S$500-$600.
Hotel: S$200-$250/night (can get better than Shinagawa Prince)
Disney: S$400 for 2A1C (2 days pass)
So total for 4 nights stay about $2700-$3200 (excluding transfer to Disney), which is cheaper than booking through travel agent. That's why many people choose F&E to go Tokyo. -
My family did that as well. F&E. Stayed at Shinagawa hotel which provides free shuttle bus to disneyland and sea. Very convenient too. My kids love Tokyo. We will probably go back again

gosh...
you guys got me thinking about tokyo now, with all that talk about tokyo disneyland
i was watching japan hour the other day and they were showing this place called the hawaiian resort, about an hour away from tokyo. it looks like fun! it's basically an indoor water theme park. has anyone ever been there before? -
Actually, sometimes no need to wait for NATAS fair - then must fight with the maddening crowd.
In fact, what we did was we went to the travel agency at Compass Point and then enquired about Tokyo Disney fare. We booked it under the Yokoso! Japan (Visit Japan) promotion. It turns out that there was an airline promo tie-up with the Yokoso! Japan campaign and we just grabbed it as the rates were reasonable.
However, do note that airline promo tie-ups only applies at participating travel agencies. So, do check if your travel agent is taking part in such a promo.
Happy Hunting for your holiday packages!! -
just came back from tokyo. went to disneyland as well. it’s off peak period now, but still, some rides have to queue up and wait for about 10-20mins. other rides no queue.
I think plus point of going now is that there is not much queue most places. but it’s a little cold as it’s winter there now. there are a lot of people at the metro and trains! can’ believe it. even at 10pm! -
Hi
Anyone can share what is the budget of bringing 2A+2C to Tokoyo.
Like how much should i set aside for air ticket, accomodation, transport and meal.
Thanks -
Hi Lizuan76,
I budgeted 5k for 6 days trip to Tokyo. but I’m sure 4.5k can be done.
air fare: around $700 for adult and $550 for child
accomodation: around $1200 for 5 star outer skirt from metro/train station, but walkable
meal: around $800 or even lesser if u dun eat at restaurant
others (metro, shopping, gift, snacks, etc) : $500 -
Agree with Smurf that $4.5k- $5k is do-able. We spent about that amount too for 2A2C.
Not sure how old your kids are, but if they don't mind queuing, then, the Q-ing itself is part of te fun and excitement. Besides there is tis Fast Pass system which you can go for - which helps u to reduce Q time, whilst u enjoy other activities in the meantime.
See lah.. talk so much about Disney, sure brings back good memories. It remains one of our fave family hols!! -
Smurf thanks for sharing.
At least i roughly know how much i need to save. Haha.
Schweppes, my kids are 5 and 6 years old. Must ask for your hotel recommendation. -

Ok, my kids were about 8 and 10yo when we went 3 years ago.

We stayed at the Shinagawa Prince Hotel.
For your kids age, I think they will probably enjoy Disneyland (Pooh Bear Hunny) and Disney Sea (esp Ariel's playground). Check out their website. I got my kids to \"do research\" before we went.
Also, if your kids are up to it, stay back in the evening for the fireworks show.
Enjoy yourselves.
