Allowed to wear but won’t advise you to give her an expensive watch above $30. My DS lost his Casio watch just a few days after wearing to school in p1. He didn’t wear one after that and frankly, they don’t need it coz there are clocks everywhere.

Agree. Just let her wear a cheap $10 watch if you must and save the Baby G for weekends! If your kid is going to P1, I would advise investing in a good durable ergonomic school bag. Kids these days have bags heavy as rocks.

Letting a child to wear watch to school is a good idea but do note that children tend to play with the new watch when lesson is ongoing in class. You can either let the child know that he cannot play with the watch in class or get the class teacher to monitor for you. A child doesn’t need to wear a watch to school to learn to read time or be able to practice reading time. A good time to practice would be in a home environment where parental support is given to help the child practice reading time.

When my kids were in Pri School, I did think of getting watches for them. But they simply refused. They just rely on the clocks in the classroom.

Years have passed n now they are in Sec School. They still don't wear watches n now just depend on their cell phones for the time.

Don't know if other parents face the same scenario as me?

Do you feel that it's a problem if they don't wear watches? If they still can keep track of the time and aren't habitually late for things, I would let it be. My kids (like me) are so used to watches that we always wear them, but my husband gave up on watches years ago once he started carrying his hp around all the time. Saves money too!
