So sorry, fellow parents, for not responding promptly! My DS is now in Sec 2 and I seldom check in this forum nowadays. I happened to log in today and have just replied to your PMs.starmoon:
anyone who has gotten the contact of the science tutor in Holland from Julia earlier on - can you please share it with me please? Kindly PM me. Thanks.
Noticed that many has seek this Holland tutor, can anyone kindly share any feedback? Expensive? 1-1 or class tutoring?
Please PM me the contact # as well. Thanks!
My husband and I credit our DS's PSLE results to this amazing tutor at Holland. (Sorry, I don't want to post her contact details in a public forum, as I have not asked for her permission.)
My DS was very fortunate to be under her tutelage since P5. My DS's P4 form teacher recommended to us when his results dipped in P5 SA1. He was not coping well with the transition from P4 to P5 then. He told us that the tutor and her team are experienced MOE teachers who are also PSLE markers for many years, they have written very good materials and are excellent at explaining the concepts. Besides, this particular lady tutor is very good at motivating and inspiring students. Everything he told us about her has turned out to be true. She has taught my son very well. He looked forward to his weekly lessons, and even initiated to join her English classes. What I also appreciate is the meticulous marking for compositions and Science open-ended questions. All the worksheets are neatly and carefully marked with feedback/ encouragement on the worksheets. It is very hard to find qualified teachers who not only teach well but have a heart for our children. This road to searching for the right tutor for my DS has been fraught with some very bad experiences with irresponsible/dishonest tutors. I've also paid for expensive tuition from a 'branded' tuition centre only to find out that the class tutor is a fresh graduate. Hope this helps! Julia -

Hi,
I am trying to source for an enrichment class for P3 Science. Does anyone have any comment on the following?
- Learning Lab Science
- Smart Science Lab
Kindly advise if there’s any others that I should also consider.
Thanks. -
Hi Julia
I just pm-Ed you on your science tutor. If you do not mind sharing with me the contact, I would very much appreciate.
Thank you -
Hi Julia,
You have a PM.
Thank you. -
Hi SydneyBB,
I’ve replied your PM.
Although my DD2 SA2 Sci maintains at 80+, I’m ok with it as I know that the highest is only 90 and most of her classmates’ marks drop quite a lot. Think quite norm for P5, but her tutor thinks she can get A* and is gearing her up for next year PSLE already. -

Hi, I'm looking for intensive individual science tuition in November for my DD. she's in p5 this year. Does anyone have any contact for a good tutor? My DD knows her stuff, it's just that she doesn't know how to answer the questions in the right way and is losing marks for that.Hello,
Wondering are you still looking for science tutor ? If you still looking, maybe you can contact Susan, she's a experienced tutor for 20 years in science. Will PM you for details and hope it help you.. -
I would recommend Science Heuristics.

My P6 girl is good in science, but bad at constructing the answer. She attended their holiday intensive class. It was very compact. She learns how to apply the concept and using essential words that helps to express her answer clearly. Her answer can be 3 lines, with the new skills she just needs a sentence or 2. I feels that this is an essential skill that can help her even in the Secondary Edu.
Science tuition is essential because she had encountered few teachers who can't finish the syllabus in time or rush through the lessons.
Hope this help. -
Hi,
I’m looking more for individual learning. Is Science Heuristics one-to-one?
Thanks.
