      FHP:
      Hi parents

I am wondering whether science tuition/enrichment is really necessary?
Can the child depend on the guide and assessment books available?
Yes, only if the parents can and will teach. My children do not attend science (or maths) tuition. We rely on assessment books bought from Popular. My P5 dd1 score above 90 for science for her recent SA2. However, I must acknowledge that one big chunk of her revision time was spent on Science.

PSLE Ultimate Sc guide book and its workbook for OE & MCQ. Sc Revision workbook and Sc Companion by Renee Chong. All these must do. Free can also do Casco Sc Process Skills and Sc Weekly Revision by YMHtun.

All the applications inside the Sc guide book must get the child to be familiar with. Practise past year papers, must mark and go through.

Maths can start with Visible Thinking. During Dec holidays do advance before the new school year starts. Maths is mainly practice and more practice. When doing past year papers, set the timer. Must be fast and correct. There are children who can’t finish on time during exam.

              Hi yhsg

My child attended Science and Math class at the centre at P5 and P6. The teachers at the centre are very dedicated and experienced. This was what my child said after graduating, \"Both Teacher Serena and Mrs Teo have really taught me a lot.\" I know my child was in good hands as I would always go through the worksheets given by the centre with my child. They taught process skills, answering techniques, keywords and concepts for Science and focus on concepts and methods for Math. The questions in the worksheets include challenging questions so really stretch the kids.

My nephew just enrolled for 2017 classes. You can go to their blog, http://serenagreenhouse.blogspot.sg.

              yhsg:
              Hi westie33

Could you share your feedback on the centre? TIA

              westie33:

              Hi,

Good news to all who are interested in wanting to place your kid in Serena's Greenhouse. Teacher is former subject head who produces students who scored mainly A*.

2 years ago I came across the agency's blog but was unable to get a place as there was only one class for P4. My kid was in P3 then. After attending a tuition centre, his science result was still unsatisfactory hence we decided to try contact Serena's Garden again. We are really in desperate mode as he is a good kid who really tried hard but still finds Science section B tough.... just can't catch the key words. Luck seems to be with us this time as I understand they have intention to start a Sun class soon should there be enough interests. As such, i'm sending out this alert with the hope that there will be sufficient students to form a class. Here are some details:

              Level : Primary 5 Science
              Day : Sunday, 1.15pm to 3.15pm
              Location: Jurong West Street 51

To find out more, you can google her blog and register your interest. I understand it's First come first serve basis. Thanks

              :rahrah:

Sorry! Just realised that they have posted testimonials on the blog. You can go and read. http://serenagreenhouse.blogspot.sg/2016/10/have-peek-at-our-teaching-strategies.html

Hi, just to share something my dd’s ex tutor is offering now (I think she sent the message to me and other parents). If you are interested, you can contact her at 93989072 (Miss Goh) for more information. See below:

"Hi, I am offering preparatory tuition classes for this Nov and Dec. The classes are more suitable for primary and secondary school students who need to catch up on certain concepts or want to have a headstart for 2017.

If you are interested, do let me know. I will discuss and see how I can plan the lessons to accommodate to the needs of your child"
