Maybe should write postdated cheque. (btw, my mum refused to answer me) :torchme:

Maybe should have a \"terms and conditions\" on the angpow. This is only for 1st marriage only. Subsequent marriages will be free of charge.

        KSP:
        tankee:

        BigDevil, first grandchild or grandson?

U mean we have a granny here in KSP??

        :rotflmao:  KSP

tankee was asking whether my DS is my parent's first grandchild!

Not their first grandchild...9th in fact!
But DS is their first...hmm...internal (内)? grandson.

Then again, being a boy was not the reason for celebration. We celebrated DD's 1st month as well....at the same hotel.

          Anyone as blur as me?

Yesterday, I was about to give out another angpow. Thought it looked kind of thin. To my horror, I opened it and it was empty!
Now I wonder how many empty ones I gave out the day before??!!
Don't think I can salvage right?

So to those who had rec'd empty angpows, this probably explains the situation. So we should not bear grudges anymore.

ya so embarrasing, I really don't know how it happened. Must have been distracted by something in the middle of preparing ang pows. Luckily I am quite sure it is only that stack that could be empty, cos the other one with higher amounts still have money inside.
Maybe I could ask my close friend whether her kid received an empty one and then give her another?

I think you should bring this up to your friend in a casual manner saying that you realised that you distributed a stack of empty angpow accidentally. Otherwise people will think you are very kiam siap.

At least they understand that it was a unintentional mistake.

I received an empty angpow from one of DH's brother (not CNY but some celebrations so expect a big one). However, knowing that his DW is always generous, I guess it must be a genuine mistake but I was too   :!: to let them know.
For my own wedding dinner, most of my close relatives (my father's bros and sis) considered themselves as immediate families (so \"zhi chi ren\" = no need to give angpows). I didn't even receive a gift from my uncles and aunts but their whole families came for the dinner. 😢
Wanted to do the same when it was one of my cousins' turn to get married. I was tempted to think 'zhi chi ren so no need to give angpow' but could not bring myself to do it. šŸ˜›

Some people very ā€˜X’(cannot find word to discribe, do help).

They will show up for wedding dinners and present you with a cheque, nice and big number but got problem 1, so there is no way you can bank it.
This guy friend did it to a few of us before we found out :x

Wow that is really cunning  Maybe you guys can thick skin alittle and go back to him. Oops, something with the cheque, can you reissue??? Think he probably got no choice but to do it and will then learn his lesson.
