I gave $20 last year.. ..This year they have 2 different drivers for both ways.. wonder how much to give too.. šŸ˜‰

We only one way. Guess I will give $20 also. My in-laws were suggesting $10-$20 too but told me that was during their time. Give and take inflation, $20 should be just nice ba. šŸ™‚

I bought some CNY cookies for the school bus driver and assistance.[/quote]:hi5: I also bought CNY cookies for the bus driver and the aunty.

          Hi,

Anybody give ang pows to the waitress who do the \"YUSHENG\" for your table? I was told by one ex-colleague some years ago that it is the right thing to do ie. when the waitress has finished doing the yusheng for you and saying all the nice words, you respond by giving one ang pow to her. I agree it is a nice gesture but I am not sure how prevalent it is, this practice.

Although we say 'market rate'.. ... not easy to come up with so-called 'standard' or 'current' rate hor.. ...

The two non-chinese family with 8 kids between them hang around my MIL's place without fail yearly and leave only when the guests leave... Clearing food and tibits... How to give 'current rate'?

                Juz me $0.02 šŸ˜‰

My in-laws give. All the waitress who are not serving our table will also one by one come in to say hello to my in-laws so that they get ang pao too!

yes, am curious why helper gets so much too, perhaps that's her bonus too?

                    PILs - $400 x 2
                    our kids - $120
helper - $28 (she got her bonus in Dec. Usually give $50 but she's only with us <1 yr and her work is so-so only.)
                    nieces/nephews - $20
                    friends' kids - $10 - $12 (will give $20 if for 1-child).
                    others kids - $6
