Free ride refers to DSA application process only. Without doubt many GEP worked very hard, but this does not mean that they can be exempted from same selection process as MS students, because many MS students also worked very hard.

Exactly. Many are sleep deprived too due to the many deadlines from assignments. They too have their fair share of hard work and expectations to meet. In addition, their papers are different from mainstream except PSLE papers. Please be kind & refrain from showing unnecessary discrimination to these kids.

Totally agree with SnoopyMum These few weeks have been very tensed given that we are waiting patiently for the DSA results and yet coping with our DC's prelims and soon PSLE. Whatever the result of DSA is, we should be proud of our DC to be able to come to this juncture. Let's continue to support them in the last lap / last month. What our DC needs is emotional and mentally support. Mummy and Daddy, 加油 加油 . We are reaching our destination soon. Hang on everyone!!! :xedfingers:

I was sharing at a dinner party last evening on the CO received by DS n one young secondary boy said this to my face in front of my DS "That school is a very good school, the students in there are very clever! You should have applied to my school! DSA students only have to meet cut off point of 225 instead of 240!"


i was not happy with that comment…

The curriculum of a gifted program is more rigorous so the amount of work would naturally be more.

Quite shock to hear that many of your children are sleep deprived in primary school. I am used to only hear about such complaints in upper sec and JC ?

Back to the topic of this thread. Congrats to those who have received CO or are on WL. For those who didn't, do not fret as you have still the chance at psle to pursue your dream school.

thought DSA students given CO and who accepted the CO : only need 200, to clear PSLE ?

Now, raised to 225, in this Sec school u mentioned ?

240 is the official psle Cut-off-point, for this school ?

Most geppers DSA for RI or RGS. Outcome not out. How to say rejection higher? Not fair to say geppers free rider. They are taught less of the PSLE stuff unlike mainstream and do more projects? Most still score above 250. Most awards won by geppers. Please be sensitive in your comments.

Some rejections already out from R schools. Obviously I based on anecdotal evidence that it appears that more GEP received rejection this year as compared to the past. There were some talks that GEP students appear to be getting a \"free ride\" if you look at past years' DSA discussions on KSP. There has been cases of some GEP becoming complacent, and it is only human nature that some will slack off once convinced that they are \"gifted\" and hence no need to work hard. I would suggest that one should try to understand human nature and find ways to deal with it, instead of shutting down uncomfortable views.

Can share which R schools have sent out rejection letters? Mail or email? Thanks!
