Is there any MOE website link that state :
if put 1st choice as WL-school, while 2nd choice is the CO-school, you won’t lose the CO-school ?
Eg
1st choice WL-school : NYGH
2nd choice CO-school : Dunman High
(both are SAP schools) -

Yes, that's right. The WL students will be ranked by the school and submit the list to MOE. Once all the students submit their option form to MOE, they will know how many CO are taken and how many declined the offer, or even how many actually reject the waitlist offer too. After all these have been calculated, MOE will know how many WL to be converted to CO (according to the ranking list given by school) and this will be make known to the child on the day when the result is release.
:goodpost:Rainbow sky:
We attended a session at HCI too, for DSA students, they do not need to meet the COP. Those who are on waitlist now, to convert to CO, they must meet cut-off for express stream (200) and of course subjected to the vacancy available for WL. For all WL students now, their names have been submitted to MOE. Their system will generate who to be converted to CO if we submit the option form which will given to our DC on 30 Oct by their primary school. So on the actual day of results release, we will know if our DC is offered a place or rejected. If is rejection, then our child will have to follow the S1 posting.
All WL will be submitted to MOE? So allocation to WL after this is done by MOE rather than school? -

So even if sch A is NUSH WL, sch B is RI CO. RI CO will not be lost if we place it second choice ??Really want to know. Thank you!
Yes. RI will still be in your hands, whilst your other hand tries to chope NUSH WL (in case u're next. in queue when others release CO.
Anyway, u got WL for NUSH? I hardly hear of WL for NUSH. Well done! -

Can I clarify for WL case:
If child 1 put School A as first choice, and child 2 put School A as 2nd choice, but child 2 is ranked higher than child 1 in the WL, child 2 will still get the vacancy before child 1? Meaning, order of choice does not matter?
( Assuming that child 2’s first WL choice did not get converted into a CO). -
FantasyLandDreams:
Yes I believe this is correct according to MOE: Order of choice does not matter - it is your placing in the school's ranking list that matters, as stated here - http://www.ifaq.gov.sg/MOE/mobile/index.aspx#Detaildoc/59414Can I clarify for WL case:

HOWEVER, there seems to have been some schools who have indicated order of choice is of consequence. -

Thanks! we didn't expect RI CO at all, it's really great but this has also given us massive headache n super heated discussions. By now DS is super confused by family members taking different sides of the 2 schools. He really need some time to think through which sch is best for his growth n interests for the next 6 years. His sch, his choice ultimately

mengsan:
A CO is a CO, confirmed has priorities over WL.
Is this confirmed? I thought the default is always if you put CO sch 2nd, then someone who put 1st choice will always be considered first, even if they are WL. If what u said is true, then it makes my dd decision so straight forward.Estéema:
If anyone hv CO & WL, yr selection of WL as first choice will not cause you to loose yr CO. That's the easier one to make decision if child like both schools.
Think again this is so unfair to 1st choice WL sch as you are just trying your luck, by right you shd lose the priority for the CO sch
Your answer is at MOE website here.

Lavenderbloom:
Hi Lanvenderbloom, esteema is correct!Estéema:
Not unfair bcoz WL depends whether after all CO accepted anyone release. If no places released or few places offered to WL in queue and u are down the line, no chance to convert WL. But yr CO remains. You cannot participate in S1 posting thereafter once u exercised yr Options Form.
You might want to check this again with the school. According to the CO letter I've received, the place is only confirmed if my child ranks it as first choice in the option form.
Its not up to the school anymore once the CO and WL are given to MOE after 31 Aug. Its stated clearly in MOE website.
Just thought I share our experience with you. My DS had the dilemma of choosing between the same 2 schools. Ultimately I told him to decide which will suit his style of learning....sit for A levels (1 exam) at the end or consistent hard work that makes up your final grade. He's more the latter. No regrets. He's actually very thankful he picked NUSH especially when the boys compare their experiences over the last few years. Also with the smaller intake size at NUSH there are many opportunities for the students. It is very challenging but he enjoys every day at school.
All the best in your decision making process!
