Do boys even like dramas? Lol...maybe those with more action like 神雕侠侣?

We are watching 冲上云霄 Series 1 with DS these hols 🥰 Unfortunately couldn’t find Mandarin version so we are watching it in the original Cantonese haha.
Mine don’t really watch tv but I felt it would be good to watch something in Chinese this month as it’s the school hols. After all we have one whole month, lol. I find that regular listening helps to ‘maintain’ ds2’s pronounciation... prevents the descent into ‘potato-tone’ that I had spent time correcting when he was younger. 😓

Hi, I am wondering if anyone have recommendations for chinese tv dramas that are suitable for secondary school age boys? Preferably something light and NOT in the style of K-drama or chinese imperial palace drama and no local dramas. Thank you!

TV dramas (old to new, the older the more conservative)
        《家有儿女》
        《大江大河》
        《奋斗》
        《虎妈猫爸》
        《少年派》
        《青春派》
        《小爸爸》
        《小别离》
        《十七岁不哭》

        Commercial Movies
        《三袋米》
        《亲爱的课堂》
        《糯米的苹果》
        《我的母亲》
        《少年班》
        《西小河的夏天》
        《致青春》
        《中国合伙人》
        《闪光少女》

        International Art Films
        王小帅《十七岁的单车》
        陈凯歌《孩子王》
        张艺谋《一个都不能少》
        王君正 《天堂回信》

There are many C.Lit and C.History movies 《骆驼祥子》、《雷雨》、《阿Q正传》 and tv dramas 《茶馆》、《家春秋》、《红楼梦》 but your kids may not enjoy them. But then you never know! Some young kids have an 'old soul' and love watching oldies.

Which tuition centres are popular for secondary chinese tuition, especially for students those who will be taking O-levels chinese exam? Are HCL and Wang still popular among the Sec school students?

IP students need only to take O-level Higher Chinese (" gao hua") paper, in Year 4.

Even though IP students need not take any
O-level Standard Chinese ("bu-hua") in Year 3 whatsoever, but

If the IP students want (prefer) to take, are they allowed to, inside IP schools ?

                  How was the paper ?
Was this year, manageable or tough ?

Sec 3 HCL students do not take the June O Level Standard Chinese papers. They only take the November papers.

Only Sec 4 students take the June papers.

However, there are some pupils who could have entered these IP schools at PSLE, by DSA or by Tscore, without taken HCL (PSLE) before, or their Chinese is not strong. They worried they may not do well in O-level HCL (Sec4) .
Hence, these students would still prefer to take O-level CL paper in Sec3 first, if possible.
Under such circumstances, these students may consult their Chinese HOD, discuss if they can be allowed by school / or by MOE approval, to take O-level CL (in Sec3), as well, on a case by case basis
The advice was to check with Chinese HOD.
