Take MRT from Woodlands to Bt Batok, from there take 66/174/852 to HCIhi,
my son is going to HCI next year. By public transport from Woodlands, other than via Bus Svc 961 from the interchange, is there any better options? Would appreciate advise . Thanks! :? -
Thanks, Jennifer. Now I know another way to HCI.

We used to stay in Woodlands too, my son had been travelling to HC for Sec 1 the first half year, took him 2 hours a day on 961, poor boy had no enough rest time then.
My friend recommended me to find someone who is willing to share a cab to the school every day, however the taxi driver rejected our offer because Bukit Timah almost jammed everyday. In the end, we decided to move. Now we stay in Toa Payoh, although not so near HC, itβs much more convenient. You can consider this solution too, 6 years time is considered long.

Hi all,
What do your boys do at home during this school holidays? Playing computer games whole day long is definitely wasting time. Any interesting programs like outdoor activities? -

Considered this option initially, but decided against it finally because of some reasons and also we think it is best to settle in and get used to HCI before making major change (shifting). MRT to Newton then take bus, there are 4 bus at that bus stop to HCI. 10-15min can get HCI.
I drive and send my son to HCI twice a week, actully any other parent stay at woodland also can share the car and send the kids alternately to HCI and NY. If drive, 6:20am-6:30am off will be fine. -

Cheerfuldad:
Hi cheerfuldad,Any parents here to share their boys' experiences about life in HCI? My DS is joining the big family next year.
- Is life really so stressful?
- Are the kids ranked according to the class they're in? Are their positions in class/standard disclosed at yearend?
- Are remedial/supp classes provided for weaker students?
- Do your kids reach home late (as in after 9pm) often?
- Are the boys rough (during orientation, do the seniors bully the juniors in ways that are demeaning/spiteful?)
- Are your kids generally happy (look forward to school).
- Are they often dead-tired from school activities?
- Are they snobs who compare the brands of their shoes/mobiles/laptops/games/cars etc..or even the places they visit?
- Heard that there're school buses that pick up the kids from east side. Any idea?
- Are parents allowed to drop off the kids within the school grounds(if it rains?)..Is there morning peak hour conjestion?
- Are they rebellious, rude and behave so high and mighty?
TIA

Hi,
You can check the school fees here :
http://www.hci.edu.sg/ContentPage.asp?SID=16
There are differences between local / PR / foreign students.
The fees you see in the table for 2009 onwards, include school fees and miscellaneous fees.
With EESIS, Sec 1 and 2 local students basically do not need to pay any fees.
Hope this helps.
