I support another parent’s feedback about this Chinese teacher called Liao Laoshi hits children. The poor children must be too scared to tell the parents.

So pls educate ur children to speak up if they are labelled or hit.

Are you talking about blk 1 lorong liew lian branch?

I also heard the Chinese teacher named Liao Laoshi is mean to the children. Heard she is a senior teacher who has worked there for many yrs.

My frd’s child who used to be there left because her child is terrified of this teacher. Seems like she is really getting away with her crimes. I’m surprised she is still there.

Oh, the new timing is atrocious. Some children would be lunching at 2+ by the time they reach home. So dinner at 7-8?? Sleep at 8.30?? (6-12 yrs old need 10-11hrs of sleep)

Chinese class horror story continue…I found out that many chinese books (compulsory books stated in booklist) were not used at all in P1 & P2. Eg. Xiao Yuan Le Fan Tian, Chinese listening comprehension, Chinese story books.

My child in 2B Chinese class said the teacher often uses degrading terms to label the kids. 哑巴,耳聋 were often heard. She scolds the class most of the time. She gave 15 pages of work in a go over a weekend. It wasn’t the first time. My child spent the whole weekend trying to complete her work.

During tests, she is mean in marking. A few times I felt that my child’s answers were not wrong but they were not given any marks. I hope the school is aware of this and I pray that she is not teaching Chinese to my child again. This teacher makes children fear and hate Chinese.

To reddiechan, you are lucky to have a child who can fall asleep anytime/soon. Some active children just needs longer time to fall asleep despite having good sleep routine. By the way, children at their age needs bt 10 hours of sleep.

To idealist, you may want to know this website is also monitered by the school. They will answer your queries where necessary. Although I hate Wed timing, I didn’t ‘dare’ ask for a change because before we enrol our child, we already knew they have such a system.

Like all schools, this school also has good and mediocre staff. At least the student mix is not a bad lot.

With regards to the Wed’s odd timing, its really a drag for my kid till now who is in P1 this year. He hates Wednesdays most as he cannot clock in enough sleep no matter how hard we tried. He even skipped schools on some Wednesdays when he only managed to fall asleep after 12am, despite going to bed at 9pm. The pressure to fall asleep soon because ‘tomorrow is morning session’ is certainly pressurizing.

    • RE: Child finds class & lessons boring

Btw, pulled him out of Berries Bishan after a term. His male teacher was always joking to the class in nonsensical manner. Children enjoyed his class so much while I frowned about the improper use of language and context. Admin manager is quite unfriendly too. Am trying eduplus next…the quest for enrichment school never ends.

Thanks. Since his current enrichment school is skeptical about level skipping. I’ve intended to put him in berries for a change after a trial. Less ‘serious’ classroom stuff. Same level, but guess its more fun, so he likes it better. (I’m uncomfortable in stopping Chinese enrichment perhaps because we are not so adequate in it) Now, just not sure if berries bishan or orchard is better. I’m skeptical about private tutors credibilty, I don’t know why.
