Hi mummies, do you all know what form of communication channel will the school send out notices etc? Mail/email/through the comm book? Want to make sure I won't miss anything out. thanks!!

Noted from school notice to parents that EVERY cards on the Chinese Studies flash cards must be pasted with our child's Chinese name (it's crazy I know but I guess the school has it's own reasons and I know that).

Anybody knows where we can get custom made Chinese name stickers?

Is Berries suitable for primary school children? My child will be taking higher Chinese in primary school & I’m concerned if Berries is suitable for her? Heard some feedbacks that Berries is using games & fun teachings so its more suitable for young (pre school) children?

May I check ICR or Lcentral is tougher? My boy is suggested to go for

1) 6th months ICRA but currently no class is available (need to wait 1/2yrs for a class but not guaranteed with a place)
2) Lcentral PFS class (I see the workbooks are mainly grammars, close passages, compre & compo) but the location is quite out of way for me. Also not sure if the work too much for my boy...

ICR is better for younger children below 4-5 for phonics but LCentral is better when they are in n2 & kindergarten onwards. Standards are higher & they are accordance to MOE. I put my kids in LCentral & so far they fared quite well in school.

May I know wch location are you looking at?

My kids are currently in LCentral Bukit timah (Bukit timah plaza) & had been doing very well since they joined. Good quality teachers & staffs & small teachers/students ratio. They are having a open house this coming Sunday (10am-4pm) with free assessments for your child & you can find out more about the program too. I will be bringing my kids there for movie screening & games too.

My DS is with BT branch since last year. I agree not many students there..He is with one lady teacher called something Sheila...(I cant remb her exact name). DS found her ok but less jovial compared to his prev LC teacher. His prev teacher left for another branch. He has no complaint with the teachers there and in good relationship with the center mgr and staff there too.
His class has only 2 students including himself...so more attention is given.
I wonder why this ctr has not many students...????

How old is your child? Have u seen any improvement? My girl used to be at ICR but I did not see much improvement. Thought of trying Lcentral and Bt Timah is the most convenient branch.

Parents out there, any comments or recommendations on other nearby branches?

My 3 kids are all in LCentral bukit timah with tr Shelagg & tr Anita & they learnt very well there. The centre staffs are very friendly & helpful too! I have tried ICR before this as well but find its not as good as compared to LCentral. Heard they are having a open house this coming Sunday (1st sep) from 10am onwards to 4pm. I'm bringing my kids there for movies, games n fun. You might wanna drop by with your child for free assessment or to find out more about the program? Hi, I do not have any experience with learning point but my DD is attending LCentral n she's making great improvements. Maybe you would like to check it out. (FYI bukit timah plaza have BOTH LCentral & Learning point. You can go check them out all at once!
