      bgmum:
Mrs bongz. I will use bleach and leave it for a few hours before washing. Stains not completely removed sometimes but will be lighter. Takes me a few cycles of washing to completely removed. I also have trouble with thread runs on the pe t shirt. They look unsightly like patches on the tshirt.

My son is to graduate from PHPP this year soon. Look back his days in Primary School, I may feel a bit guilty myself. I did not pay special attention to his uniforms. A new set may get a few stains within 2 months. I bleach, but it looks still dirty. I can feel my son feel a bit embarrassed sometimes about his stained shirts, pants and shoes especially when there are new teachers or exchange students coming to visit the school. I have a tender heart to my son when he tries to keep his best shirt and pant for some special events like oral test although he can not prevent himself to soil his clothes as he is bit clumsy or rough to handle objects.

Phpps did very well this yr - almost 40% of P6 scored 240 & above, a record year 🙂 We may not have a lot of super high score students, but a very sizable group of students with above average scores.

This above statement is true, I think. Asked a friend, all she knows is about 250+, one 260. It is so horrible. PH should wake up. Teacher should not ask students go to tuition and ask working parents strugling too much. School should motivate teachers and students to work together and have a fighting spirit next year. My son will be p6 soon. How should I do if the school just loosen its rein while most of time, my son only follow his teachers’ instructions.

Do you think Pei Hua push students too much? I do not think so. This year, the last semester, my son seldom got homework. He always told me they had finished all at school. The other thing, every Thursday, it should be the math supplementary, but a lot of times, the supplementary lessons are cancelled due to absence of the teacher. A lot of math and Chinese worksheets were not marked in time, especially math worksheets. I wanted to call but I thought Pei Hua is good school, I should be patient. But if PH in PLSE can not produce students with marks above 270 + while a lot of neighberhood schools can, something must be missing. We can not be complacent because of old records. Can school motivate students to learn actively? My son always saying he is within top 10 in level and then always push his work to last minute. The attitude is a big problem. Marks are not all but it does reflect the attitude to excel in competition.

For Singapore Top 10 secondary schools, the entering mark is 250 +. Previous years, a lot of parents will be happy to share that their kids got 260 +. This year, it is so quiet. No 270+ in PH this year? How about 260+? I heard some 250+.

How about Pei Hwa Primary school PLSE result? It is so hotly discussed in other web thread. My husband told me Pei Hwa did not do well this time. Is it true? My son will be in P6 next year. Worry, worry.

P5 science section B: my boy did an average job. Previously, he always lost marks because of incomplete description. This time, he had abnormal and creative thinking to the questions. For example, cage for pet mouse. He thinks if he uses glass, the mouse will be overheated. When sperm and egg fuse, baby comes out. Before my hubby and I read the paper, we are angry about the marks. Now, we have a chuckle with the boy together. Kids are kids. As to Normal Chinese, my boy did badly. Actually, he can understand the passage well. However, he did not follow the game rule to play it. I asked him to underline all relevant sentence to a question to advoid missing points. He did not care and every question, he only get half. There is a wrong impression in kids that they think one point they wrote worth 1 mark and they were brave to miss other points as they think they are secure to get full already. Actually, one point may be only 0.5 mark. I stressed this problem to my son a few times. But he was rebellious and refused to accept my suggestion and wrote whatever he liked to open ended questions. I wish this is a lecture to him. He dropped in CL from 98% last year to 90% or maybe 80% + this year. Attitude problems.

How do you know the next year class so early? I remember there will be a notification letter from school to tell the next year class in holiday.

My son did not like to do mock paper. At home, we did not try any Chinese mock paper as he refuse to practise. He was also not happy to attend any tuition class. He is always at home reading books as he tells me in the afternoon while I am at work. But I think he may play handphone at home as I find he always put his phone in his pocket. I will send him to some tuition course in P6. Feel so worried.
