RE: Q&A - PSLE Science
Compress is related to state of Material, eg: for air, it can be compressed to become liquid, another state of material. since sponge ball is not material, so is not appropriate.

RE: Presidential Election 2011
can imagine a CEO disagreeing with the Chairman...
happened all the time..Way2GO:
This works both ways.
Those who think that just voting in oppositions in GE is sufficient need to rethink. I found a similar analysis here, but it is Mandarin:concern2:
Interesting article, and some insights too:

Presidential Candidate Qualification and the Grand Scheme of Things
The President Elect (PE) while is a custodian and Head of State does not comment on policies without seeking the consul of the Cabinet. These nuances give rise to the belief that government is seeking a PE who is reserved to rubber stamp recommendation in areas of: spending of past reserves; key public sector appointments; detentions without trial in internal security cases; corruption investigations; and restraining orders to maintain religious harmony, namely the 5 areas as explicitly provided by the Constitution but outspoken and antagonistic when parliament is dominated by the opposition.

Tried to translate this, but quite disastrous. Can anyone help to translate?
It basically means that the president's role is a weapon in favour of PAP in times of an opposition dominated parliament.
An EP's powers are deliberately very limited by design to prevent a separate power centre.
An EP's veto on reserves drawdown and key appointment holders can be override by a 2/3 majority vote in parliament.
If the parliamentary majority shift to an alternative government, it likewise can override the EP's veto in a parliamentary vote if it can garner the 2/3 majority.
The EP can be 'antagonistic', but in reality he is nothing more than a toothless barking dog under the provisions of the current Constitution.
In either case, an EP who sets out on a collision course with the government will always end up with the shorter end of the stick under the current Constitution.
-
RE: Eczema or Atopic Dematis
wow, IMHO Manuka UMF25 is overkill for the skin, UMF 12 is good enough for the skin…
But, itch must be due to food, in order of my allergy:
1) Peanut
2) Chicken/ Duck
3) Shell fish: prawns, etc
4) Milk
must avoid heavy food, go on light, soupy diet will help.
never bath with hot water.
Good luck -

RE: Eczema or Atopic Dematis
@Breadandmuffins:
Root cause derived was my own opinion, is digestive system + stress + weather.
My eczema would healed by itself when I was in China, or France etc dry countries.
For your condition, I would advise to avoid peanuts, chicken, prawns, milk or raw fish, any raw food would trigger the itch.
Externally, must avoid bar soaps. use QV, Cetaphil etc PH balanced soap. Bath not with hot water, and < 3 minutes, followed by quick wipe, minimize contact with water!
If you would, try Chlorella (Holland and Barrette), after taken the supplement, I seldom need moisturiser (I use Physiogel too, its greatest but most costly  ). I recommended a Hong Kong friend whose son was suffering similarly like the condition you described, and she reported great improvement within days, at least his wounds and itch dried up quicker than before.
Warning: Initial side effect is detox type of LS (diarrhoeal)
Relax and go botanical garden more often, will help too.
Best of luck. -
RE: Eczema or Atopic Dematis
Personal experience in adult eczema
1) started around 2008 (age then 47) after taken some Glucosamine.
2) visited western doctors, given steroid cream, failed to help.
3) visited famous TCM, spent lot of $, EYS, BTRT etc, all not helping.
4) chanced upon Chlorella (Holland and Barrett), recommended by friend as daily supplement.
5) Eczema healed, after detox flush 2 days later.
Food to avoid: Chicken, diary products (especially cow milk of any kind), peanuts, soya bean.
Root cause for me: poor digestive system. -
RE: what food to lower cholesterol?
my journey in mainting blood pressure/ cholesterol.
same, detected hi cholesterol, hbp during annual check up.
tried many high fiber diet, drink (like ABC - apple bit root carrot juice) etc, until stomach cannot take it -> because I dont have a strong stomach for high fibre diet.
take green vegie of deep green leaves, younger are less fibrous, good for weak stomach.
Milk (full cream) are bad, the whiter the worst. Take goat milk from local farm.
cut supper, less oil, less white salt, less white sugar.
why? anything white may have been bleached in the process… take organic.
final, walk > 30 minutes per exercise, if possible, daily.
if no time to walk, must do stretching excersies that lead to deep breathing.
Meditate to bring tension on head, to stomach, in the process losen all muscle from neck down to spin… and tail… before sleep.
it will help, but very hard to lower… as there are lot of nuisance substance that our body are not smart enough to discharge…
Good luck. -

RE: hi... worried_mummy reporting....
I have learned to let his interest flow, but cannot match with what the education system wanted my DS to.
My DS, really cannot cope with MT, the rest were also average, but deep in my mind, I know he can learn, especially his favorite subject – sports car!
We are seeing gov.sg admitted to the fact that edu.sg trained workers has not been as good as those otherwise… FT are still marching in, quite some with cheaper, more efficient third world education systems.
Don’t stress them before they stress you…
