CK0917:
Teacher Stephen that you mentioned from which branch?!
Hi,duckeroo:
hihi,
I'm interested to send my son to the JE or woodlands branch. anybody can pls share with me feedback bout the 2 branches to see which is better.
thk u very much
My boy is currently at JE branch, i ever consider Woodland branch as well since i stay in between. I think the JE branch staff are more helpful & flexible. I went Woodland branch for assessment, however, i sign up with JE branch. Woodland branch offered my boy launchpad, hence, we took up launchpad when we register. However, during end of the 1st lesson, my boy was \"upgraded\" to lift off by teacher Rebecca, i personally think she was good & detailed enough to pay attention to my son when he was in the 1st lesson, she took the initiative to ask my boy to stay back after the class to re-access him & put him at liftoff. But too bad teacher Rebecca went back to her home town early this year.
Teacher Stephen was good too, he is strict, yet those under him produces good result. Not too sure about other teachers. Hope this info helps.
Will pm you my son's particular & shd yr kid want to sign up for Lcentral.
Thks. -

Can anyone feedback me JELIC Programe at Coronation Plaza (Dunearn), Ms Loh?
Location easy to park the car? Is the centre old? Clean? Teacher good? How old the child can join the program?
Thanks! -

Hi, My son is also a new student at TH, K2 class. Just asked e recep abt lesson 10 performance. Indeed there is no class on tt day and it will be a combined performance with K1 students. The kids will either perform in a grp or individually to show e parents what they hv learned throughout e 1st 8-9 lessons.
On first thought I felt that it's shortchanging the parents/students as we paid for 10 lessons but actual teaching and learning only 9 lessons...guess this is only for e lower level kids. But they sld put e performance on e 11th lesson I feel as 10 lessons a term already very short, now become 9 lessons a term which is even shorter.. Am thinking if I should switch provider. For him to learn more..
But On 2nd thought, if by e 10th lesson my son is able to reiterate everything tt was taught and remember them by hard because of e performance to impress e parents, I felt it's not a bad thing after all. Haha, I'm a dilemma mummy.
Any parents who have experienced it before can share your thoughts?

Thanks for the reply! How long is the open class on week 10? TS teach base on worksheet. Is the child will get bored easily? Most of my friends said Berries is fun. And it's good till K1/K2. TS is good too.
Speech and Drama is incorporated in TS Nursery to K2 lessons. Sign up a term to know what I'm talking about. There is an open house at the last lesson of the term to showcase to parents what the children have been learning.Alexjune:
Tien Hsia (Kovan) or Berries?!
Tell me more parents.. What's the class size, which is well prepare/transition into P1? I heard of TS is more academic. And has spelling in K1 onwards. Does it mean the class no singing, jus sit down & listen/write?
My boy is in N2 now. Thanks!
Learning should be fun. I'm afraid TS will kill his interest of learning. I need advice..

Thanks for ur reply! Do you know what's the contents of the programme? They teach base on worksheet. Any other materials to let the child bring home? There is open class for parents to join in on week 10. That's mean no lesson on that day?
Yes, TS prepares the child for P1. Kovan TS very popular. Almost all their classes are full. The population density is high in Hougang. My nephew is in N2 TH. He enjoys going for lessons.Alexjune:
Any feedback from TS (Kovan)?
My boy is in N2. Is TS well prepare/transition the child into P1?
Is the class fun? I heard of TS is more academic. And has spelling test from K1 onwards. Each term (3 months) consists of 10 lessons. Is it too short? While Berries has 16 lessons, each term (4 months).
Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the information szemien! My 3.2 years old boy will go for LauchPad programme after the assessment. I revise his school work everyday. And need a professional teacher to give him a better guidance.Alexjune:
What is the different between ICR & LCentral? Need help!
Any good teachers to recommend for Foundations & LauchPad at LCental Thomson, Holland or Bukit Timah Branch?! ThanksAlexjune:

My kiasu mummy friend told me the difference. She researched in details the difference of LCentral and ICR. LCentral is better than ICR with 'word attack skill'. LCentral reading programme teach more sight words which aid the kids to read faster rather than the need to blend 'high frequency' words when reading. For ICR, the kids have to learn reading with the marks above the words like those words you see in dictionary. After they learn to read the markings with the words, the kids have to learn to read the words without the markings above the words. It's like learning extra thing and to forget them. Extra step.
My son's teacher is Teacher Aisling for Foundation Class at Holland branch and my girl's teacher is Teacher Rita for LaunchPad Class. They are very friendly teachers. Teacher Stephen taught my girl for a term before I switched timing. He is very cute and nice teacher as well. I always see him playing/joking with my children.
