RE: Help! Who knows highest MOE official in-charge of Welfare?
HVR:
To be fair her/his dd used to study in a school near home but the child was selected for GEP and transferred to RGPS. There again, I think school transport has nothing to do with highest authority in MOE.
i will consider to move again ... 孟母三迁 hehebuds:
Oh my, I was just dying to say this but scared I get :spank: !
I know!
You were definitely itching right?
3Boys:
Yes.... buuuuutttt let's not go there orh.The flip side is that distance should be the sole consideration for P-school priority admission and not the mumbo-jumbo of alumni/parent volunteer.
We both know how you got in.
b4 P1 move once
P3 move twice
sec 1 move third time -
RE: Help! Who knows highest MOE official in-charge of Welfare?
that’s what we did, move near the school… since the school is our choice (with higher chinese) and i cannot bear the sight of school bus rushing to drop off the kids and hurry to pick up factory workers.

RE: Help! Who knows highest MOE official in-charge of Welfare?
sounds to me that you are feeling your kid’s life is not in safe hand under the current school transport arrangement…
School is the party contracted the bus operator so it has certain liabilities towards the children onboard thus answerable to the parents, unless you have signed some disclaimer form before taking the school bus.
Maybe u can consider to see MP in that area to advise you on your concern?
Think this may be a faster channel… -
RE: All About CCTV/spy camera for monitoring maids
Hi, would like to share that i just installed the wired cctv last sat cos i could not cope with the wireless configuration

I should say the quality is so good that i regret i din install earlier. Not only monitor maid but also make sure my son is doing his homework.
Btw i have a month old Dlink 930 wireless IPcam to let go if anyone interested. Only used for 1 week to test and give up after that.
Have to say that it was very easy to install but the configuration part was
a nightmare. -
RE: Chongfu Primary
Hi,
Just would like to share what happened to my boy in school on
Wed, 22 feb 11.
After recess, the class was told to move from hall to class. Someone pushed my boy from behind and he fell flat on the floor. His classmates helped him up from the floor and someone called the teacher. At that time was his chinese teacher. He was then sent to sick bay in general office. His form teacher was called in and attended to him. He was bleeding badly due to a deep cut at his upper lip. His teacher cleaned him up and gave a cold compress.
The point of bringing up is the teacher who said called us twice, couldn’t reach us, gave my boy a pack of tissue and sent him back for his lessons!
I know she needs to go back to her class but she din even leave a message for us or keep the boy in sick bay and get admin in general office to try to inform us.
Guess u can imagine how shock i was that evening when i fetch him from the gate. He looked so blank and his lip was swollen!
This incident make us wonder how the school manage any emergency response in case of any accident to the students. we asked the teacher but she could not answer us, just kept saying she cannot reach us.
How can she be so irresponsible! -
RE: [Yishun] Primary Schools
Just found out from ChongFu that the screening test will be 2.5hr for english and math, with small break in between. I can’t believe that! my son haven’t even ‘learn’ anything from the school yet and they want to let him sit for 2.5hr test!
