I share somewhat same sentiments… Called centre this morning and my son’s teacher just left yesterday when she has class with my son today!!! How can such thing happen? She’s a teacher and just leave like that without giving thoughts to the students!!! It’s incomprehensible . I work also must give one more notice to my boss and I’m just a regular worker. A teacher is suppose to have passion and at least some responsibility ??? Whatever change the company has got nothing to do with me. Why are we the ones that suffer? Left me to believe she must have some better deals elsewhere. So mad so mad!!!

I think I have this teacher too. Don't know exactly because my mother in law will send my boy for me. Long hair and tall? But my boy no improvement after long time. He went for some test, teacher say ok but the tester say he cannot do it. So fail :slapshead:

What happened to teacher? I didn't get any call...

I agree that the enrichment classes within school hours are very good. For one the kids don't have to spend extra hours, money and time(travelling) on other enrichment centres. The gals will also get to know each other better since they'll have a better time during their P1/2 compared to the upper pri gals, when studies becomes tougher.

CCA...most impt is the interest...so what if its NICHE and yr gal can't perform to 'Niche's standard...Kids do well and what they like best. 🙂

came back from today's orientation! maybe because this is our first time, still many confusions.

other parents, how do you feel?

Could any one enlighten me how to find out costs of the CCA activities? It looks that my friend told me was true that most of CCAs require payments. But I don't know how much. We'd like to take a number of them if possible, just to find out our girl's interests and strengths before she chooses to focus on something.

And have you opened the Edusave account? Just go to any bank like OCBC or Posb to open one and government will credit money there for us to pay a bit of CCA fees? -))
Need to go and 'open' edusave account? I don't think so. We already filled up a form and handed in on orientation day right? Think the school will process it.

CCA...will be affordable though we don't know the actual cost. My gal's form teacher recommended 1 CCA for a start. 2 is ok...but more than that...not advisable. Teacher added that...coz most kids these days have other enrichment courses outside school hours...so the rule of the thumb is not to tire the gals out....i agree

      btw...which class your gal's going?

The orientation date (14 Nov) is the only piece of info received so far. All other info we need will be briefed on that day itself so there will be no other notices other than the green copy of ‘admission’ letter that all would have received if your gal managed to secure a place in MGS. Cheers!

O I’ve already bought the uniforms as I don’t want to jostle with 209 other parents during orientation. You might wanna be kiasu like me …hee… Uniforms are sold at YANG ZI JIANG at Block 26 Teck Whye, very convenient since we’re staying in Choa Chu Kang. I heard that school books can be ordered thru PACIFIC BOOKSTORE via email…i’ll wait till orientation to do that(booklist of MGS not out on website)

As for the RAD exam…Coach in MGS is pioneer ballerina Mrs Sarkies, if i’m not wrong. My daughter is attending ballet at the Dance Station now and her teacher/Principal is very very good hence i don’t think i wanna take her out from there. Will let her join other CCAs(MGS has got lotsa CCA , really spoilt for choice) . My only concern is the number of children in the class (ballet). Currently only abt 10girls in Dance station, which is a good number…My gal will be taking the grade 1 RAD exam in april 2010.

Hope i’ve helped to clear some doubts…cheers
