Thank you for sharing that wynea. This is an interesting discussion and it can really depend on a lot of factors.

Did your son improve his grade through the home tuition though? Maybe he just wasn’t excited about extra work at home, or perhaps the tutor couldn’t adapt the right relationship for work with him.

Do you know which exact classes your daughter went on in CCE?

Thank you for all of the responses, this is very helpful for me.

Our first pick for the 3rd language is Spanish, but we are also still thinking about German.

I found couple interesting articles that I want to share with you:

Did anyone maybe travel to Cyclades islands in Greece? Which island would you recommend?

      Andrea 😧

Never tried Trivago so far, thank you for the tips. However I frequently used Booking.com and AirBNB and always had good experience

Which has a better rate? Booking.com or AirBNB? Trying this for the first time. Thank you in advance!

It really depends from the city to city. I travel a lot, and usually I find the better deal on the AirBnB, but in some cities for some reason AirBnB is much more pricey than Booking. I would recommend to check the both options every time so you make sure you make a better deal. Both websites are good and I never encountered any problem so far.

I'm not sure if posting referral links to this forum is ok, but if anyone books through the Booking and AirBnb for the first time, I can give you a bonus €22 travel credit that you can spend on your first trip, feel free to contact me in inbox before booking.

Great articles! Very helpful, especially for a first-time mum like me.
You are more than welcome! 😄

Please let me know if you need any help in the future. I am very interested in youth education in general and many forum members helped me with their post so I am looking to contribute as well 🙂

    • RE: All About English Creative Writing

One good tip that was given to me by one teacher was to encourage our kid to write stories at home about the topic that he/she prefers the most. After that you can examine the child's work and highlight the mistakes and some tips for the future, also powered by adding couple vocabulary alternatives in case the kid is repeating the same words too many times.

Next time the kid should write another story but with the previous work presented to memorize the mistakes in order to make the new one better. After repeating this for many times, it can improve really a lot. It takes some time, patience and attention to detail, but definitely works.

If you are interested in helping your kid improve creative writing, here is one helpful article:

Hello! Section B is really tough. I am considering maths heuristic section B class or CCE for the holiday break. I am seriously considering either one but if someone could give me feedback on how the classes helped their kids, I’d appreciate it. Thanks.

I feel you, realtalk. My P4 daughter had the same problem last year. Math was kind of traumatizing for her. She somehow had the idea that if you’re smart, you can do math and, if you’re not smart, you cannot. Her confidence was greatly affected as she was getting failing marks on exams.

This is an interesting discussion. I believe parents make a lot of mistakes sometimes when they accuse kids how it's their fault for some low grade, how it's easy and especially if they compare them with some other kids.

I found two very helpful articles for parents who consider tuition for their kids:

May I have some comments on the following schools?
      - Queensway Secondary School
      - Beatty Secondary School
      - Kent Ridge Secondary School
      Thank you
My cousin's children are going to Queensway Secondary school and they are very satisfied. However, I suggest you to briefly check all of them in order to make the right decision for your kids.

According to Secondary School Ranking (based on cut-off for 2018 intake), they are all pretty much in similar rating.

You can see the rankings here:
