I asked a question earlier but didn’t get any answer so I shall try again:

1. How to waitlist? Go down to the school, 1 person or 2 person?
2. When to waitlist? After 2cs or 8 August can already?
3. If u waitlist another school and got it, what happens to your spot in the first school (if there is no waitlist in sch 1)? Is it just left vacant?
4. Does the school you waitlist at give you a number or entirely up to their discretion?

Thanks.
you can refer to the moe guidelines and eligibility to meet. there's an opening window for waiting list application, not any school more than 3km of ur current residential else ur kid will be posted back to current school.
What I don’t understand is say for NYPS, why 35 or more SC parents (all < 1 km) are willing to risk balloting for 20 places in Phase 2C, when if you miss it, that’s it. The options left in 2CS are far removed from your first choice of NYPS and the chance of a future transfer is so small. Under what logic would one still go for balloting with such odds and consequences?

If you put your name into the hat, there's a possibility that you might win.
On the other name, if you don't put your name into the hat, you will never win.

But given the odds, if you don’t get it, you will end up with something far removed from your ideal. The alternative outcomes are too extreme. That’s why I don’t get the thinking behind this.
is just like buying 4d and toto, the odds are not in their favor yet ppl still queue and buy, thou chances are slim. haha..

Sg50 babies will be facing even more intensified competition.

SG50 babies total birth rate still lost out to dragon year babies but competition should also be more intensive as compared to other years.

Actually sg50 babies surpassed dragon year.

TC_Parents:
Hi all, need your advice of the followings:

There are few choices of schools in my area and we are SC under 2C phase:
1. Alexandra PS (5mins walking distance) - preferred but understand that balloting might be required for SC<1km
2. Zhangde PS (~0.85km) - need balloting for SC<2km? Need to take bus there, also there are locations where no shelters. problematic if raining. For Zhangde, I heard some negative feedback from some existing parents...so not sure if it's just for a particular teacher. Any comments for ZD?
3. RVPS (~1.4km) - need to take bus and there might be balloting for SC<2km. But the bus ride will be along my way to work.

Our main choice of criteria is actually close to home, regardless the rating of school, as we are working parents and totally rely on helper for the kids. Since APS is so close to home, our current view is that we may go for APS first to participating the balloting. If we fail, our backup choice might be Queenstwoon PS (<2km) but not sure if there are still places left for 2CS due to dragon babies.

Another choice is we keep monitoring of the registration rates of APS, RVPS and ZD on the day, and decide on the day to choose a safer option.

Your comments would be much appreciated.
If i were u, i will join the ballot for APS, firstly, SC got absolute priority, 2nd u r <1km, 3rd is just 5mins walk, 4th ur ultimate objective is distance, 5th even before ballot, the ones <1km will admit first before balloting starts, 6th even if ballot <1km, the odds of not getting it is not high. All the conditions are met and at your favor, just go ahead...

Schools that are near to my place include Mayflower, Anderson and AMK primary. My son has mild speech delay therefore i am looking for a more well-balanced school for him. Would any parents know which would be a better fit for him?

Mayflower is a good school and having principles and teachers with passion to teach. My friend kids are there and they are very happy about their studies and life balances. At least they dun looks stress to me and enjoyig their schooling period.
