      In an exam, every student who too part is award points as follows :

      Gold - 5 points
      Silver - 4 points
      Bronze - 3 points
      A total of 3952 points were awarded. 1/4 of students achieved gold awards. 2/5 of the remaining achieved silver and the rest achieved bronze. How many more students achieved bronze than gold award?

      A, B, C and D had 105 apples. A lost 3 apples and D lost 1/2 of what he had. B bought another 6 apples. C’s mom gave him enough apples such that his apples are double of what he had at first. In the end, the 4 boys had equal number of apples. How many more apples than D did A have at first?

      10 people boarded a bus at the first stop. At second bus stop, 2/5 of the passengers alighted. At the third bus stop, 2/3 of the passengers alighted and 5 boarded. There were 15 people in the bus when it left the third bus stop. How many passengers are there in the bus when it first started.

F then took half of the remaining apples. The rest of the apples in the carton were packed equally into 12 bags. There were 26 apples in each bag. How many more apples did D take than E?

      Why minus 8 at the remaining part 4/5? I thought we first find what's 1/5 (E), then deduct 8 from her end.
      I got F, but confused with E.

      He baked some pies. He took home some for his kids. He collected $14.40 after selling 3/5 of the remaining pies for $1.20 each. He then had 1/5 of the original no. of pies left. How many pies did he take home for his kids?
