jedamum:kiasimom:We are brought up by our parents too and here we are parents ourselves and we are concerned that our parents spoil our children.because sometimes my son leverage on the grandparents to ruffle my feathers, i am looking forward to spoil his kids.LoL.. We should be able to strike a balance. Maybe you can talk to your parents and ask them not to interfere when you areDisciplining your child. But you have to be tactful when putting it across.

Drizzlestars, if you’re really concerned, postpone the chicken pox one. I think I only asked for it for my DD1 (she’s 8 now) when she was 1 or 2.

My dd cannot even call papa or mama at 20 mths old. But somehow a couple of weeks before her 2nd birthday, she suddenly found her tongue and can say daddy, mummy etc.

MLR:angela: She always acts like an adult. Doesn't want to drink from the training cup but wants to drink from the cup. When drink from the cup, the water will drip onto her shirts and have to change again and again. :?When shes drinking, let her wear a bib that has a plastic backing. Since she enjoys soup, which is liquid, then gives her a cup portion during meals. She likes fruits, perhaps can cut up some of the fruits in small bits, put them in a cup, pour in water/barley and feed it to her. Don't concentrate on what she don't eat, focus on what she likes to eat and improvise. Also, about the amount of fluid, depends very much on your DD's activities, if she perspires lots, then got to try giving her more. Otherwise 30-40 ml with each meal together with her intake of milk, should be sufficient.Hi ,Thanks for your advise. Now she is getting better, really to take some water during meal. :celebrate:

I went to check out the one at Simei Eastpoint. Think it’s quite an old branch, so the place looked kinda messy, and it’s an open concept classroom area, so think it might be quite noisy…What tipped the balance for me was the ‘outdoor’ play area, which was on a narrow strip outside, and looked really cramped and seemed to be where the shopping centre would put their aircon units.Curriculum-wise, I heard from the lady (think she’s an asst supervisor instead of the principal) who brought me around that in the afternoon (it’s full day childcare), they will be taught by the teachers from morris allen and tien hsia. These two centres are also located on the same floor in Eastpoint. so I guess it’s pretty convenient.I thought that aspect was good, since these ‘professional’ teachers are probably better than the other ‘childcare’ teachers, since they specialise in academics. But have also heard that tien hsia is a lot of drilling through worksheets and not as ‘fun learning’ as Berries for chinese, so that was another ‘discount’ factor in my consideration of Orange Tree. hope this helps!
